Very useful description madam. And also am thankful to you .i am orthopaedics surgeon. I did my first transposition flap with the help of your description video. Thank you madam.keep going.
Why didnt you explain correctly...It is good for us ..to go through the experts like you but you people always tries to hide in borrows while comes to teaching and flash first for criticism....sorry sir..
imho it makes no sense, you do a trasposition flap and then you skin graft the donor site. WTF. you could directly skin graft the portion with the lesion. Flaps are made to close directly avoiding skin grafting when you have to sking graft donor site you failed proportion of the flap. a Plastic surgery resident
Dear didoich , a flap is used when there is an exposed tendon/bone/cartilage without a vascular layer on it and by definition is the very purpose of using a flap and not grafting the area. A transposition flap again by definition leads to a secondary defect which is grafted as that is taken from an adjoining area with pliable skin and not exposing other structures. Do not fret, you can plan other flaps like rotation, rhomboid etc which close secondary defects primarily. Kindly refer to a basics text book if you are yet confused.
I am one minute into this video and already smiling from being super impressed. Very good explanation.
