    Hi, I love your videos and watch each one that comes out. You are a great teacher and that’s coming from a retired college instructor. One thing that has helped me with yarn that either pops up or gives me tucked stitches is to add a couple of those big 2 inch binder clips to the bottom of my work. They seem to just add enough weight and tension to keep my yarn on the needles. I’m so going to make this hat. It’s so pretty.

    I can't tell you how creative you are. Your videos are wonderful. Thank you sooooooo much for sharing your ideas and talent. I just purchased a addi 46needle and the smaller addi machine on Amazon. I am excited on learning how. I crochet and knit by hand . I am hoping it will be easy to learn. Could you please share a video on what brand of yarns are best to use on the addi machines♥♥♥🪡🧶♥

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are very kind. Thank you for your encouragement.
      There are a lot of yarns that work well but stay away from the course feeling yarns. I like some colors of CraftSmart yarn and don’t like other colors. Often because of the dying process, the lighter colors like white and off white are difficult in the machine in that particular brand. However so is black and some other dark colors. Stay away from that yarn and Red Heart Super saved when your learning.
      Caron Latte Cakes work amazing and so do most Bernat Super Value colors. Heritage yarn works. Most 3 weight yarn and thinner feeling 4 weight yarn. 100% Cotton does not work. You will really have to just try. Maybe start with a Caron Latte Cake to get the feel of your machines.

    Good advice about yarn texture too.

  • @viviniy
    @viviniy ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've noticed that too. Coarse yarn tends to catch on the machine (I use a sentro). I tend to go slow anyway since I do different patterns other than regular knit, but there was one time I went in with 2 yarns at once for more color variation, and needless to say, it was a pain in the neck. It turned out really nice, and I would definitely do it again, but I check the coarseness of my yarn now, haha

      I have never held two yarns together in the machines but I have thought about it.

    Hi Shelley, thank you for another nice video. I ordered a lot of the craft smart yarn, because I saw you knit with it on the addi and it looked easy to work with. OMG. I'm working on a blanket for a queen size bed. It's an ordeal to say the least. I don't think I want to use this yarn ever again. Very hard on both hands. And the machine. Same on the sentro. Anyway, I have to finish it. 13 tubes. 400 rows each. 🤪The positive side of it is that it will be beautiful and warm. Hopefully I can use it before winter ends. 🤭☺

      Hi Evy
      I am sorry that you are having such trouble. I use Craftsmart all the time but I also share in my videos which colors my machines hate.
      All of the rougher colors. White, ivory, black, pink. Some other colours are no problem. Feel the ball and if it feels rough at all, even slightly, your machine wont like it.

    I’m gonna incorporate the graph into the pattern. Less chances of snagging a mess.

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet

      I have had no trouble with a mess. I actually prefer duplicate stitching because it gives extra texture and dimension.
      I’m sure a graph would be beautiful as well.

    Hello. I noticed on one of your videos that you have a burn on your right hand, I think. I hope you are doing better from that, if that was what you had anyway, please take care. I really enjoy your videos because they're very instructive for me. I'm barely new to knitting on the machines and I will check my yarn to make sure to buy soft yarn. So again, I really learn a lot from watching your videos! Take care and God bless.

    As I was watching, I was wondering if that wouldn't be easier to do before you put the hat together, when you could still have your hand on the back? So, I assume that you are going only through the front layer? I really like your videos. I like the way you think and I like your thought process! You are very creative and I love that! Keep up the good work. I will subscribe! God-bless you. You are the 1st person who makes hats almost exactly the same way I do! I will be watching......

      I am also a very visual person so having the project completed first helps me to centre it perfectly based on where the brim lands.
      Yes, I only go through one layer. 😍

    Have you tried weights? I use knitting beds and weights are such a big part of keeping the yarn on the needles. I would try some claw weights and see if that helps. Great video, I’ve been really thinking about getting a addi machine to add to my yarn crafts.
