- Montu is a widely considered one of the best inverted coasters in the world but it used to better. Video from 1997 when the brakes were much lighter and the ending wasn't so sluggish. Also the Amazing entrance sign, wheel cover art and crocodiles. Alot of this footage was taken from the overflow Que which stretched in between the 2 vertical loops and has been gone for many years.
I rode this back in 96 just before New Years, and I absolutely remember the crocodile pit that was under the track. I also remember standing next to that tunnel after the first loop since that area used to be open back then. Such a good memory, and I'm glad to see someone captured the ride from that time period. It was so freaking awesome back then.
I ride montu almost every weekend and when I saw this video I always think it is going to your picture.
I didn’t know there use to be 🐊s under the lift! Does this have trims now?
They added a trim brake before the batwing in 1997, it is there when I filmed this but it was very light and the mid course Brakes were very light or sometimes did not touch the train at all in 1997. Now they grab you pretty good.
Ahhh do you think they run this efficiently enough to utilize the midcourse breakrun?
@@coasterjeff2664 Not as good as Alpengeist. You like 30 mph to 4 mph in the mid course
Why’d they increase the strength of the mid brakes, cuz the thrill of the g forces were to intense?
0:34 why they got rid of the big stone is beyond me
But Why Did They Change The Wheel Covering Art On The Trains, Starting October 2006, Though? I Liked Both Of Them Best; They Even Did Both The New Art On 2 Trains, And The Original On 1 Train In 2008!
Probably much cheaper to just paint them solid colors
Hey, Coaster Jeff! What other roller coaster commercials do you have besides The Outer Limits: Flight Of Fear at Kings Island?
How were you able to stand right next to the tunnel after the first loop?
In the 90's there was a overflow que line that went over there.
@@coasterjeff2664 I was at Busch Gardens today and I checked it out. Apparently when they built Cobra's Curse, they made the overflow queue inaccessible.
@Coaster Jeff hey guy! How are you? I hope that you're fine! Let me ask you a question?! Did you remember when you shooted this video? I went to USA on July, 1997! And I went to the Busch Gardens, too! I remember that I stayed almost 3 weeks at Florida, few days at Orlando, 3 days at Tampa, and 5 days at Miami! And I remember that I went to Montu at least 5 times in a day, after the lunch! I don't know how I resisted without throw up nothing! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I love Montu! And I wish that I can go to USA again! And yes, I'm from São Paulo, Brazil! 😉😉😉
As kids we always tried to spit on the crocodile. It was very difficult to impossible.
Glory days.
My friend is terrified of the sound
I rode this in 97 and saw the crocodiles
I didn't see not one gator
