Thank you! This video is VERY instructive! And thanks for the tip on how to anchor the cake of soap to the bottom. Most folks are saying to microwave the soap in the mug so the cake melts and expands to file the bottom of the mug. Seems like the wrong approach. Your solution is so simple, effective and works!
Excuse me Sir. I jus bought a ceramic mug & puck. After i shave do i rise mug or do i jus leave mug as is? Meaning lather all inside & around mug? Only been using Safety razor 1 month & havent used mug or puck yet.
Use a butter knife, spatula, or your fingers to gently remove the soap out of the mug if it's stuck. You can also use these tools to scrape off any excess shaving soap from the mug. Be careful not to scratch the mug's surface though. Run the mug under warm water to soften the soap if it doesn't come out with any of the above tools. After each use be sure to take it out while it's still wet and not stuck to the bottom.

Mark Szorady Well, that works for Glycerin based soaps, not so much a good idea for Tallow based.
I prefer porcupine quills for my shaving brush
Nice collection of mugs. I had to get a hard plastic mug though, because I am a klutz.
But how do you leave the mug when you're done?

I'm shaving the old way because of gillette.
Me too!

Good video. Very informative. I am just getting into this and trying to learn before I go out and buy a mug and brush.
Thank you! Good luck!
What’s the best way to take the soap puck out of the mug?
