I LOVE your enthusiasm and the editing with all the aesthetic and even music of the vibes the books give off. It def made it interesting. Thank you for all the recommendations! Ya fantasy forever is so good I’m 19 and still eat ya up like no other
Just saw this on my recommended and the books sound so interesting! I think Dance of Thieves is in my tdr! I will admit, I wasn’t so much of a huge book reader but the moment I got into fantasy romance, it became my favorite genre and I’m hook! The book that got me into this genre and reading in general is Once Upon a Broken Heart! One question I have is in terms of the spice level. I struggle with figuring out how spicy it is because everyone spicy level is different. Especially with the marketing of NA and YA. Is there a method you do that helps you find the book that you know it’s not too spicy or spicy enough that won’t make you feel uncomfortable? Or are there books in the list you recommend that isn’t too spicy where it’s erotica? I’m fine with a good steam if it progresses the plot or behind closed doors or fade to black but I feel extremely uncomfortable with spicy levels that are erotica. 😅
Oo thats a good question! I think usually looking at the triggers of the book can help in determining spice. Also if the plot of the book is mainly romantasy then I’d say the spice would be a bit higher while if the romance is a subplot then usually it is less spicy. In terms of the books in this video, I’d say most of them are moderate to low levelsish of spice except a court of thrones and roses and perhaps vampire academy in the later books. Some of them I don’t remember the events exactly so not sure but these are the only ones that stand out in terms of spice really. Throne of glass does have a bit of spice that increases in the later books but I felt that it wasn’t too distracting from the plot overall. I completely get what you mean I don’t like when the book focuses so much on the spice that I feel like there is no plot at all, it ends up making the story not entertaining. I would also say that usually the adult fantasy books from authors like Robin Hobb and Brent Weeks usually have almost no spice in the romance subplots compared to the YA and NA romantasy books so I’d say have a look at those as well!
@@luluhalimThat is definitely a good point you made! I’m also surprised that you brought up adult fantasy since I hear it’s the opposite. But love the distinction you made! I think I read the first book of Bridgerton cause I thought it would not be spicy from the tv show and I realized I was super naive as it was a full scene haha. So I thought every book that is open door has this level like Bridgerton. But it seems every author writes differently and it’s honestly trial and error! And everyone has a different level of tolerance when it comes to spice. For me I don’t have a problem with steam level especially if it helps build up the two characters relationship. But a full sex scene is where I have my limits haha. Thank you so much for the tip! I will definitely read these books. There were a few you did not list in this comment that I thought were extreme and it makes me happy cause I can now add it to my tdr!
@@FutureSakuraStar99 yes I agree, I find that usually adult fantasy books that are more focused on epic fantasy don’t have as much scenes but I guess it depends on the subplots as well. I forgot to mention that from blood and ash also has quite a few scenes as well!
