I still dont understand why Angelica would say things like "never mind what we had." and "I'll chose her happiness over mine every time" ......she had a 3 minute conversation with Alexander before Eliza told her he's hers. what exactly DID you have??? Also, Alexander saying he longs for Angelica but misses his Wife Eliza. WHY does he long for her? for what reason?? Something tells me that either they both are doing all this over a 3 minute conversation or their "letters" weren't all that platonic in the first place. in which case, I feel bad for Eliza. People wanted to protect her but they end up hurting her anyway, whether she knew it or not.
In the musical canon, they clearly had a thing for each other and their wits were matched, they were a lot like each other. It wasn’t just the 3 min convo they had, it was the talks and letters throughout the years. They just never acted on their “crush” since yanno, married and Ham loved Eliza and Angelica would never do that to Eliza. HOWEVER, in real history, it’s never confirmed that Ham and Angelica had a thing for each other. Just kinda flirted a bit in their letters. We never will know. Lin just put this love triangle in for a better story ;)

There was one instance in a letter where he may have attempted to flirt, it was punctuation that changed the intent of the sentence. Angelica ignored/never acknowledged it and it was never brought up again. She was married years before Eliza and Alexander got married and thoroughly enjoyed her husband. Said husband was Alexander's benefactor and a solemn close friend. He loaned them money plenty of times, allowed them passage in his home, and even lent the guns that were used in the Hamilton duels. Alexander trusted Angelicas husband to take care of his wife and family after he was gone. So no, I do not believe the character Angelica and the real Angelica coincided in their comings and goings with their brother in law at all. The character however, is not my taste. I like her, but it's just her involvement with alexander ruins it for me.
