In this video we saw a black walnut log on the sawmill and get some chores taken care of in the woodyard #freewood #blackwalnut #woodmizer #sawmill #maine
Hey, guys. I know you must be frustrated like crazy about your truck. I'm so sorry you're having to go through that because I know it's frustrating. God Bless you both. Chip
I would just slab all of it with live edge. Even the top and bottom cutoffs could be used to make really nice bench. I'm posting this before you start cutting...
Good day Allen Family Firewood, love the rant and you 100 💯 correct. What happened to simplicity? Things that work ? Why change it ? Blah blah I feel you’re frustration. Awesome looking black Walnut and congrats on 50k subs Cheers you guys Brad . 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
Jacket looks great on you Karen. Finally have your truck back, then bam!!! What a let down. Holy frig, I hope they do something, it's getting ridiculous.
yup I'm getting a little sick of it to say the least. it did something new...the starter stayed running after it turned over. the guy replaced the starter and says it starts every time. we shall see don't have time for this crap
Nice black walnut Speaking about your Truck That's why I got a 1979 Ford Cause I got a 2004 Dodge and I can't even get a gas tank for that p*** is your rate off I know what you're going through That's why I'm going old school Freaky's new Junk So you stay safe stay happy don't get excited and have a good day
My truck is a 97 F250 just past 150k. Parts oh man i know what yiu are getting at. I do my best to keep certain parts in stock for a 2 year supply and sometimes it takes 1 year just to get them.. If there is a cpu or computer that needs repair let me know i know if a few places that is what they do
First snow 😍❄️😍 Recently a friend back home in Maine found a black walnut tree, who knew? Absolutely Gorgeous!😍. I’m with you Karen, an accent wall or shelves. Something! Phil- Walnutsicle 😂😂😂 Prayers for your truck🙏
yup, winter is here. not where you are though! lol that black walnut was planted years ago, it's definitely not a native tree here really nice stuff though Thanks Kim, hope it's running soon
Black walnut is like gold here in South Central Michigan. Seen an ad on marketplace the other day for a log. Guy wanted $7 a board foot ! For a log ! Peaple are nuts. That color change i natural . Great video guys!
Unfortunately your truck was made in Mexico, a third world country. I drive Toyotas. They are the most American made truck in America. I have put over 350,000 miles on 4 of them. Never done anything but general maintenance. I don't know how you can run a business without a truck. Has the excavator been repaired. How is the yard leveling coming. We still havn't had snow in southern Ohio.
That's a good track record with the Toyotas. I've been looking at those, you see them everywhere. I'd say I know why now lol. Not having the truck does not work! Excavator is running, but not optimal. It's still getting some work done, hoping to get it done before the yard is buried in snow
Your truck waiting for parts just don’t make sense. It seems like everything is getting that way. I think the main problem is no company wants to tie up their money in inventory parts. They order them as they need them. The walnut you cut up looks beautiful. Later you 2. Tomorrow will be better.
That's beautiful wood.sorry about your truck.i miss the old trucks.an engine, carb, distributor, starter, alternator, battery. Glad you finally getting it back thou
Good video and job really nice walnut. I agree 100% i am never going to buy a new truck the electronics are junk on all of them. A lot of the parts are made over seas I had to wait 3 months for a part and still ended up having to wire around to starter to get it to start..I hope they will get your truck fixed soon. My 1984 GMC k 2500 smells like sweat, sawdust and saw fuel so Karen would hatte my truck to plus bed is full of all my logging tools and 6 saws. Take care, be safe and well.
yup, got my truck back after the latest fix and it still wouldn't start this morning...then it started later in the day...just don't have time for this stuff...might need to go truck shopping soon lol
They changed the fuel filter...got it back and then it stopped starting. Looking like it's the starter...maybe...we will see I know I been too long without the truck!
We can grow Black Walnut here in Maine, but it is not native. How much are you planning to sell the 5/4 boards for. Have you had any Beech on your mill?
yeah pretty sure it was one someone planted years ago. not really sure how much to sell it for yet. I've never had beech on the sawmill thanks for watching David
My dad always said the more crap. You have on a rig the more crap to go wrong ! I my self I love old stuff no computer's and you have to roll up the windows. Newer is not better . But I'm old.😅
You have patience my friend. Can they put it on computer and find the problem. Look around and fined a mobile mechanic that will come to you. It’s cheaper too in long run. Good luck with your truck
you'd think a dealership would be able to diagnose the problem pretty easily guess not sounds like it might be the starter, we shall see lol Thanks Tommy!
Nice looking lumber. I had a 2014 Chevy work truck was only a year old it spent half the first year drove it in the shop. Even with rebuild motor still burned oil. I told myself I never one for myself. With the way they handle the repairs. I do think we all be better off with a old truck. I really like to find old one ton ford high boy. Keep up the good work. If you use hand warmers put them on the top of your hands not in the palm see if that helps. Better yet take some slash and one them smokeless fire pits next to the splitting area.
I’ve milled a fair amount of walnut. Never had sapwood turn blue not sure what to tell you. Most people don’t want sapwood however I like the contrast. The sapwood can always be stained walnut to blend the color. Peace
The black walnut is beautiful so sorry about your truck Phil I agree with you they don't need to make these things like a like a rocket ship it could be made so much more simple like the old days points and plugs so I wish you lucky in getting that truck back up and running
Thank California for all that new stuff on your truck. Those liberals screw up their state and pass it on to the rest of us that are happy with what we have. Keep your truck and just get it fixed. Maybe go to a junk yard and find the right part or just replace the whole unit.
Might be a bit awkward might try a pair of leather chopper mittens with wool liners and should have room for a handwarmer packet down by the fingers if needed.
Great rant. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻jumpins that’s terrible about the truck. Excavator is running. Woo Hoo. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 You can keep that snow down there with you. 🤭🤭🤭🤭 Well you got stacking done. That’s a good thing. 👍🏻👋👍🏻👋 Well. Have a great weekend team. Better days ahead. 👍🏻👍🏻🪵🪓🔥👋☕️
Blk walnut all over NY. When ya get the purple and green in it that just adds to the beauty. My combine has like 5 options for the head lift cylinders. Karen, where's your NE accent? Mittens. Tables, built-ins, cabinets. No clue what's w the blue
wish we had more of it up here, that's nice stuff! sounds like the blue might have come from the blade...it's just never done it on any other wood we've sawed. yeah, finding parts is ridiculous!
@@AllenFamilyFirewood probably chemical reaction between the walnut sap/oil and bluing on blade. Ever notice how nothing but grass will grow under them. Some oil/chemical the tree secretes
It was a brand new blade when I started sawing...think it may have something to do with the water on the blade maybe? it's never done it on any other wood though
Black walnut is beautiful wood for sure. I would be tempted to take the garage man’s companion out and get the 300 win mag and put it out of its misery.they all suck when they give you fits. Be better soon guys 🔧🪛🔨

Hey Phil and Karen , I have been getting a black walnut tree . The main trunk was hollow . I’ve been getting some good limb wood from it . That is some high dollar lumber you milled !!!!👍🏻🇺🇸
Black Walnut is beautiful. I figured you were going to be pleasantly surprised. The bigger logs will have more meat and less sapwood! I prefer the white sapwood contrast against the dark grain.
