Great challenge Minho, my training structure is quite similar to yours, and though I also think that it could be better, I realized that it really works for me. I will be using this video as a inspiration to my handstand training as well. Axé!
Cool Video!!!! Awesome to see you struggle and see the hardships well documented. I used the first covid lockdown to improve my handstand. Haven't checked if I can do a minute though... Anyways, why haven't you tried the tug handstand or with legs split left right instead of front and back? I find the tug handstand much easier and can hold it longer. (lower center of gravity)
It's because this is what I usually do in the Roda :) I usually either go for split handstand or straight one. I sometimes do side split handstand but briefly going into next movement.
By the way, i have been practising according to your videos since last year. I really thank you. I improved the movements like au and saudacao because of your video.
I meant that If I did the challenge again, I would do only 1 set o 5 exercises (30s each) and they I would spend a few minutes practicing just handstand position that I want to get better at.
@@byMinho Thanks. That's what I thought. I'm a beginner at capoeira--- less than a year. This 20-day challenge is helping a lot with my bananeira. I can't do all of the exercises in the video yet, but the ones that I can do are helping me get better balance every day. A mestre said that the bananeira is a move that every good capoeirista must know. So this video is helping me a lot. I'm sure I'll continue doing these exercises after I develop a good bananeira.
@@areguapiri Well done! Some exercises are difficult indeed so just do as much as you can. I agree with your metre - Bananeira is number 1 really! All the best and keep training.
I have been practising capoeira for 2 years. I still cannot do handstand. I have to do some injections because of disease. The side effect of injection makes my hands and legs weak. I practise capoeira every day and seems to improve steadily. But my handstand movement haven't improved yet😢. Could you provide daily challenge of handstand for the people whose hands and legs are weak like me??
Hey! First of all, sorry to hear that you face obstacles that prevent you from enjoying the training fully... unfortunately, if you cannot prevent it, you have to adjust... so just don't give up and carry on! As for the handstand - By any means do not think you're doing bad. I've trained Capoeira for 11 years and only now I start to control handstand. The key is consistency. Not sure if that is possible for you but I would really try to strengthen hands and legs using the simplest exercises such as push-ups and squats. Since I started doing the challenges and work more on my body strength, I noticed a big improvement in my handstand. Another thing is stretching - the more flexible you are, the easier the handstand will be. Rest is also VERY important - I do NOT train every day (I only stretch on a non-training days) as I notice a considerable decline in strength, body control and energy levels if I do not rest. If I were you I would try to: 1. Try to strengthen my legs and arms doing the simples exercises such as push-ups, squats, pull-ups and some abs. Set some goals for yourself i.e. being able to do "X" amount of reps per training, increase if it gets easy (it will also mean you're getting stronger). 2. Stretch as often as possible to make a habit for stretching - plenty of 10min, 20min stretching routines on the internet 3. Master handstand by the wall - do not worry about free hold handstand yet - wall is your friend. In this video I showed LOADS (probably too many) of exercises for handstand by the wall. Pick a few, not too many and practice them to perfection. Focus on details shown in the picture I showed in the video. 4. Make handstand a few year project, you have time, do not rush, it's not a competition. Take small steps but consistently. 5. Rest, allow your body to rest.
@@byMinho I heartfully appreciated for your advice. Yes, my body is not flexible and cannot do push-ups well. I will try to improve those according to your advice.🙏🙏

Yeah, sometimes a training plan won't suit everyone... which is fine :)
Thanks a lot! All the best!

This means a lot to me! Super happy you found some use of my video! 💪🏻💪🏻
Did you say that we should do 1 set (not 2) of the 5 exercises each day and a normal straight leg handstand after each of the 5 exercises?
