Couldn't help but notice the check engine light was on in your guides turdmobile. Also I think you shouldn't worry so much about high ISO noise in those low light jungles as that can now be addressed later (within reason). Do what you need to do to get the shots. Cheers Jonas.
Hummingbird photos are excellent!! As for birds on a stick, baiting/feeding station - you may find that photos taken that way do not have as much meaning/impact for you as if they taken without such assistance, but some have no issue with it. I would certainly take photos of birds on a stick when it is one that I have not seen before so can document it and work towards in flight photos.
