      Sure did! Alana you are incredible (not leaving out the photographer) but your expertise so compliments Greg's videos. I've been checking your channel on and off since your last video, just in case I wasn't sent the blue dot. Ecuador has some stunners, not the least the Hummingbirds. Some birds on this one we've never seen before. ATB from W.A.

    What a wonderful birding video! The narration is excellent, as well as the videography. And your production captivated me right to the end. For those who need to keep bird names correct, the euphonia labeled Thick-billed 16:53 is an Orange-bellied Euphonia. Understandable as there are ten euphonia species alone in Ecuador to learn to ID, and most are quite similar looking.

      Thanks Rick for your kind comments and for the correction. We really appreciate that, especially on our non-Australian films where we are not familiar with the birds.

    What a small world. My wife and I are avid birders (more bird watchers these days), retired from the USA and living just outside Mindo. We were watching your video on birding northern Australia, and stumbled across this video. We would have invited you to our place for coffee had we met you. Cheers!

      That would have been great. If you ever find yourself in this part of the world (South Australia) please get in touch.

    Very nice and tnx for sharing this. Just to suggest that the bird at 16:52 is not a Thick-billed Euphonia. Looks like a Orange-bellied Euphonia. Tnx!

    Loved your video. I was also in Ecuador in May but on a general tour not a birding holiday so you showed me all the birds I missed. I saw a few of the same ones. Hope to go back again someday, a wonderful country, but maybe not the best roads!

    • @alanadare7052
      @alanadare7052 ปีที่แล้ว

      @alanadare7052 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep. There are so many beautiful birds there but I guess we're fascinated by Hummingbirds because we have none in Australia.

    1:10 I’m from Ecuador and have a really hard time telling the difference between an eared dove and an Ecuadorian ground dove. Any pointers? They look so similar to me 😫

    • @RickK347
      @RickK347 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The two black slash marks on the side of an Eared dove's head ( one starts down from behind the eye, the other is located at the top of the side of its neck ) is a distinguishing feature. This may be why it's named "Eared" in English. The ground-doves lack these marks.
