Hello everyone, Frost here. Welcome back to a new classic wow video, this is the fourth episode from the Rags to Riches series, Mobs that Drop Expensive Loot. Previously we talked about how to get gold quickly if passed level 40 and you still don't find yourself in the position of owning a mount, the video received very good feedback and I thought you guys really enjoy this type of format where we cover grinding spots in detail. Today we're going to do something similar but instead of touching the low level zones we're going to explore an end-game spot, one of my favorite vanilla places to acquire gold from. We're going to see how much gold can be made/hour and what professions are great to have in order to become more efficient. The reason we're venturing into this dangerous place is for the plague bats, mobs with one of the best loot table in game, at least in terms of the grey items. They Consistently drop four of them:
- Bat Ear - Stacks in 10, goes to vendor for 83 Silver.
- Sleek Bat Pelt - Stacks in 10, goes to vendor for 1 gold 21 silver.
-Large Bat Fang - Stacks in 10, goes to vendor for 1 Gold 59 silver.
- Evil Bat Eye - Stacks in 10, goes to vendor for 2 Gold 8 copper.
-They also drop Wicked Claw's, a crafting material but assuming the market is down, stacks in five and goes to vendor for 25 silver.
This spot will always be consistent in terms of gold gain because most things you get from the mobs are not tied to changing nature of the economy.
The bats have good drop chances on Traveler's backpacks, Thorium and Mithril lockboxes, also they drop lots of greens where some of them can have significant value. For example I got a lvl 54 offhand of frozen wrath with 20 frost power, early game this can sell pretty well, now sure exactly at what price but I'm assuming 100 gold +. Nevertheless, I will not include this in the final gold/hour as this is heavy RNG. Speaking of heavy RNG not only that you get high level green items but you also have a chance to obtain rare iconic items such as:
-Orb of Deception, Maiden's Circle, Stonegrip Gauntlets,The Shadowfoot Stabber an so on.
Not only this, but these mobs can drop the second wave of epic, rare and expensive items such as:
-Stockade Shoulders, Skullflame Shield, Krol Blade, Myrmidon's signet, Axe of deep woods and so on. Don't get your hopes high on this, the point is that this grind is a bit tedious and annoying, knowing that there's a small chance to obtain one of these items will help you stay motivated and grind more gold.

What I really enjoy is the mix of lore and facts, giving a good fantasy vibe and rp-feeling while at then same time gives you more in-game knowledge. Mine are as well. In all honesty as long as youtube is run by a soulless algorithm, there's gonna be a ton of small / mid sized creators that don't get the recognition they deserve.

uhh almost 23k subs as a vanilla youtuber is far from underappreciated. Compare with tipsout etc, anyways frost really does a great job and his subs will climb. Needs some time tho :)
René Klenk I like to round up 22.2k subs to 23k subs too sometimes 😋but the comparison you did there is a bit of, since tips has a bit more if I remember right. Anyways we have been starting to grow lately, I guess the Classic WoW community is growing too since the release announcement.
thing is, regular math doesnt work in youtube. I calculated that he gets regularly more subs, which means he is close to 23k :) Anyways thanks for your insight. Tips has 23.6k atm. So i think the comparsion is fine :)

Great video. Detailed and will definately try this one. I actually grinded these when I happened to find the same as you say here, alot of good greys and evil bat eye can sell for 10-15s above vendor price.

This is going to be a useful series. I remember in vanilla making short lists of mobs that dropped decent valued greys to vendor for this exact reason. Now the only one I can remember is that bears drop bear carcasses and they went to vendor well

I remember grinding gold back in the day in WPL Hearthglen and another elite spot in EPL (forgot the name).
Not sure if it was a good spot gold/hr wise but it occasionally dropped some rare items.

Helpful video frosty. Thank you. I prefer to pickpocket on level 50+ mobs myself but this becomes inefficient after getting good enough gear to farm mobs with more speed.
Love the mix of lore and tips in your videos. So many of the TH-camrs who make videos about Classic are just ranting without saying anything useful, and it's tiresome.
Great Video. Would love to see more info on classes that are able to solo grind parts of instances. Farming elite mobs and such. I get that not many classes will but playing a hunter in vanilla allowed me to grind some elites for drops and such.

definitely need more of this kind of stuff man, great work.
might try it out. even though you showed your calculations im skeptical about the 50g/hour thing. im playing warlock and for gold ive just been farming mara, which gives ~29-40g/hour depending on what princess and the croc drop, with one run taking about 15-17min (with my pre bis gear). so im not sure if grinding mobs is faster.
but i still really like the real-hard-cash form of g/hour - not relying on the AH too much.
as lock the monster bats are probably easiest and most efficient ones to farm. just gotta see how my voidwalker handles the silence and how much his threat in combination with my killing speed affects the grinding speed.
