Dream to Reality GALLERY TALK with Mary Stewart Adams, Star Lore Historian

Part of Charlevoix Circle of Arts' DREAM TO REALITY exhibition! Mary Stewart Adams is a Star Lore Historian and host of the weekly public radio segment and podcast “The Storyteller’s Night Sky,” designed to restore the mythic grandeur of knowing the stars. Mary leads audiences in the delightful connection between the night sky and the cultural arts such as nursery rhymes, fairy tales and mythologies. Mary will discuss her new book, "Star Tales of Mother Goose," which is designed to awaken the imagination in relationship to the stars as a companion to the science of astronomy. It is wonderfully illustrated by her sister and collaborator, Patricia DeLisa. In 2011, Mary led the team that established the 9th International Dark Sky Park in the world near Mackinac Bridge.

It's amazing that I am the first to comment when if you want to know about the author and this book you need to listen. She is so intelligent and can explain just about anything to do with the stars. Although she is an adult, her energy is childlike and I'm now buying that book and we shall see if my grandchildren get it away from me. Ha!
