- Today I'm going to get every achievement in Hollow Knight. I've heard Hollow Knight is one of the best games ever made, and I want to see if that's true. This is a series called Beloved OR Busted, where I 100% games that people either loved or hated to see if they really earned their reputation. Hollow Knight's steel soul mode, and Pantheon 5 are the hardest achievements I've ever gone for, let's see what that adventure looks like

About stag nest: hopefully you've already seen it (but it didn't make the cut), but if you get up the elevator - you'll see newly hatched stag egg. And the name of our stag changes from "last stag" to the "old stag".
Even while Hallownest lies in ruins - there is still some hope.

I did fully explore the stag nest and find the egg! You're right about it not making the final cut haha. I didn't put the name of the achievement and the egg fact together, but I found it wholesome regardless
please let that new stag make it's way to silksong somehow

Zote is clearly the superior bug. He follows all all 57 precepts!
I missed a class and didn't learn the most important precept. I wouldn't have had such a hard time if I knew it!
He doesn't though. One of the precepts is to "Tell only the truth".

I did play the Path of Pain! It didn't make the final cut since things were already pretty long. Grubsong, Hiveblood, and deep focus helped with the rage lol

As someone who has gone through the completion process of Hollow Knight about two or three times. I couldn't help but chuckle and nod in agreement to some things said in this video. There are some extra levels of pain you could do like fighting all the bosses in the Hall of Gods at Radiant difficulty but getting 112% along with all the achievements is a big enough triumph. Good freaking job!
There seems to be universal truths in Hollow Knight. My favorite is the hatred for the primal aspids lol

Oh Colosseum of fools, my biggest hurdle on my way to completion so far. I spent hours stuck on trial of fools. I feel your pain, but at the same time I'm somewhat glad to see someone else struggle on it aswell lmao.
With that said, time to spend hours upon hours in pantheon, but honestly it feels less frustrating to grind.

This is such a cool video. My favourite thing about Hollow Knight is how satisfying it is to finally defeat a boss you’ve put what feels like hundreds of attempts into. My first save file took me 70 hours and I only reached about 80% completion during that time (I kept getting lost and dying at the beginning lol) but you feel like you’ve achieved so much by the end. I can only imagine how amazing the feeling is to 112% the game and win all achievements. You’re making me want to try it out just from the look on your face at the end 😭 well done.

when i beat poh i gave up recording cause i lost so much. i finally did it and grabbed my phone and filmed the shakiest recording of the last shots at abs rad. seeing you do it gave me that same feeling. great video on my favorite game of all time.

Took me a while but I finally got all achievements on my Nintendo switch. beating absolute radiance at the peak of pantheon 5 is one of my fondest gaming memories. and the whole vibe of the game is perfect its a masterpiece.

I got to the Watcher Knights and after something like 20-50 attempts I gave up the game. I thought about going back, but listening to your commentary I realise that I simply don't receive any dopamine from beating hard bosses. The moments I enjoy are story beats and art design. The fighting is something I do to get to those. So I don't think I'll go back.
I think that's completely fair TBH. I always heard people talk about how the difficulty of the game was one of the best parts, but after playing through everything I can say that I was close to taking a permanent break haha. After the first 70 hours, I felt content with the game. I took a few weeks off, and when I came back the spark was there. My biggest issue was the time commitment TBH, so I can definitely see why the difficulty wouldn't give you that fulfilment considering how long it is
Just so you know, watcher knights is the hardest required boss. And before you fight it, you can get basically every upgrade available. If you do go back, getting upgraded spells, max nail, and shade cloak will trivialize the fight

It took me 35 tries to beat Hornet the first times, I almost quit. When the Dreamers appeared, I realized how much bigger the story was going to be and that I loved it.
That story expansion was my favorite part of the game

Man those crystal flying bugs were the most annoying part of the game, I rage quited so many times trying to pass that damn crystal cave, but damn man congrats for not going insane chasing that 100%! Awesome dedication and nice vid!

Amazing video! What an accomplishment to do this, but just saying there is some optional stuff that is not needed for the 112% completion and achievements stuff like the weathered mask and void idols ( i think that's what they are called). But besides that this game is incredible and it pains me that I never got that void ending.
In terms of seeing how the game stacks up, I wanted to get 100% of the achievements. And with all 63 earned, this game was amazing. Anything past that is gravy

Great job! Also, it’s kinda interesting that you refer to attacks that follow the player as “heat seeking.” I’d imagine the knight being pretty cold because he’s made of void.
That's a funny thing to notice, but you're right 😂 perhaps homing light orbs would have been more on the nose
25:57 so fun fact! It's funny you mention skipping the pantheons because getting the god tuner (the item you get from the start of that dlc) counts as 1%. You didn't need to do any pantheons you could've just grabbed that item and dipped
The pantheons are safe anyway because you don't lose steel soul if you die inside a dream, except for the White Palace and Radiance.
Originally I wanted to do the speed runs, so I was going to skip the junk hep all together. By the time I reached the end I completely forgot about the tuner lol

The fact that i heard "this took me 200 hours to complete" and my instant reaction was "only?" as to be surprised by the number beeing "low", that speaks on itselfe on how hard the game is, also, imo it IS impressive that it took you that long and not more
All of the people I had talked to before playing said it was like 80 hours to complete, so coming out with 150 in-game hours (50-70 of editing to get to 200+), didn't seem super impressive. You're giving me some premium gas, though!

TBH this is the best guide out there IMO

I always get a sense of satisfaction seeing people completing this game. I loved it so much that I radianted all the bosses and am trying to do all the pantheon's on all bindings. P5 is just so hard. But the game is so worth it

Oh buddy, I'm never gone. Just took longer to do this game than expected lmao
I have never felt more privileged to be naturally good at a video game as now. My deaths on P5 were:
To winged nosk the first time it showed up (I had it down a couple of fights later)
To AbsRad the first time I fought her (cue hours upon hours of practice)
To GPZ (did like 5 practice fights before going back in)
To AbsRad again (noooooooooo)
And then I won. PV and NKG were never really a problem 'cause I had them perfectly down by that point (having beaten NKG on radiant and PV on ascended). Markoth *was* a problem but I just brute forced through it whenever it came up and used Failed Champion to heal.
Your other major challenge, the Trial of Fools, took me like 5 attempts but all in all wasn't too bad. Interestingly, 2 or 3 of those deaths were due to the God Tamer, who you didn't seem to have any trouble with.

I did the path of pain 😂 there just wasn't a way to fit it in to this. It was like 2 hours of dying lmao, and breaking that down into 1 minute(ish) of footage just didn't look as good, so I cut it. Great lore tho!
sisters of battle is my personal favorite boss fight in any video game. just such a well designed fight. I'm gonna go play it right now in fact!

I don't know if you checked but there's an empty eggshell in the stag nest, that's why the achievement is called hope, because there's hope that other stags survived!

@@morgansbasement i mean, you can see that from the advancement or achievement or whatever percentages. about .5% have achieved the p5 clear. most people would only be able to clear that hellhole in like 200 hrs. maybe 100 if theyre smallant. that means 1:200 players spent 200 hrs just to clear a game. unfortunately, im not one of them. ive spent 200ish hrs, but most of it was just walking around listening to the whole ost.

I see around 10:05 that you had thorns of agony equipped against hornet, thorns is known in the community to be a lesser value charm, it kinda locks you in place when you’re hit, burning up crucial invincible frames for our knight, obviously you got through it so congrats!! but just something I noticed!
I tried to work in a bit talking about Thorns of Agony, but it was kinda run on so I kept it out. I used that charm for like 60 hours, and I got WAY too comfortable face tanking bosses and getting damage in from thrones. It actually sand bagged me so hard lol. I wish I hadn't used it at all lmao
