I am a massive fan of Damon and his projects. I like this album but it's a bit mid. I think their last album Song Machine was fantastic. But for me Demon Days and Plastic Beach are fantastic albums.
7/10 for Cracker Island from me.

I’ve never really gotten into Gorillaz… might check out the Bad Bunny track out of pure curiosity, as I have a turbulent love/hate relationship with his music lol. Also, I’ve been binging the channel the past couple of weeks and you’ll be glad to hear I’ve been playing Suspended in Gaffa on loop the whole day hahaha

I've never really been big on Gorillaz for whatever reason, some of the singles over the years have been good but nothing made me interested to check out their albums. I also had no idea they had 8 albums! I wasn't even sure I was going to listen to this but I decided to give it a shot. It was overall a pleasant listen with some songs that didn't really work for me. The title track stood out the most for me, which makes sense since I regularly hear it on the radio and it's alright, but again I don't get excited by it. I went 3 stars, probably not something I would seek out again but I am certainly not going to turn (most of) it off either.

This album is very middle of the road. You need to check out "Demon Days" and "Plastic Beach" (again). Both albums are more conceptual, consistent and experimental and, in my opinion, they both flow pretty well as a whole.

I'm a huge blur fan but I've never been particularly big on gorillaz and this album continues that trend. Not terrible but i will likely never return to this one

Sounds like one to file under 'life's not just too short, it's already shorter than you thought'. 'Stevie Nicks feels unnecessary.' There's a line for the biog dust jacket.
    Thanks for doing the earwork.

This one seems more like a straight ahead pop record.

IMHO, Gorillaz guest appearances are far more successful when they feature a singer (e.g. Little Dragon or Bobby Womack on Plastic Beach) as opposed to a rapper.

thought this one was pretty good, maybe 3.5 to 4ish. one of their weaker releases but still some moments I like a lot. I agree about the first half being the strongest because the first 5 or 6 tracks are all my favorites. I’d rank their records something like
    1) Demon Days
    2) Plastic Beach
    3) Song Machine
    4) Humanz
    5) Self titled
    6) Cracker Island
    7) The Now Now
    8) The Fall (not bad, just very meh)

A few okay tracks, but just another album I can use for my ongoing 2023 playlist (I kept the title track).

The C.I.A.; Circa Waves; The Drin; Fireworks; King Tuff; The Men; Moments of Clarity; Paramore; Quasi; Runnner; Shame; Slug; Superchunk; The Tubs; The Waeve; White Reaper; Young Fathers; Avey Tate; Debby Friday; The Go! I enjoy Gorillaz a lot, like a lot of their more recent records though I find this one just ok. A few really great tracks but just too inconsistent in quality. Plastic Beach was their last truly great album

Part of the Gorillaz' thing has sort of always been about bringing together a bunch of disparate musical ideas and guest stars and somehow making it work. I think that's part of their charm in a way. The Bad Bunny song is my least favorite, but I don't hate it. I'm kind of in the 3.5-4 range.

I like a few of the songs: The Tired Influencer, Skinny Ape, and Possession Island are pretty good. I'm getting some Flaming Lips vibes from this record, but if I want some Flaming Lips vibes, I would rather just listen to the Flaming Lips. Overall, I think this is probably the best Gorillaz album since Demon Days. That's not saying much though because all of their albums since Demon Days have been pretty bad - especially Humanz, which is possibly the worst album of 2017.

Its pretty average for Gorillaz. A few great tracks and a couple of insufferable ones imo. I'd place it right in the middle of ranking their albums. Been hoping to see a Gorillaz ranked video from you guys for years now. Especially now that it sounds like neither of you have fully explored their discography. You're gonna be in for a weird and wild ride. Fingers crossed.

A fairly disappointing album from one of my favorite bands of all time (they're actually in my top 10). it's a pretty good, perfectly enjoyable but rather forgettable synth pop/80's revival sorta collection of songs. I do really like some of the singles like Skinny ape or the title track but other than a few bangers it really doesn't add much to their stellar, super unique and colorful catalogue consisting of masterpieces like Demon days, Song machine or Plastic beach. 6/10 for me.
