- The Glenasmole Valley is home to the Bohernabreena reservoir and waterworks and managed by Dublin City Council. The reservoirs supply approximately 35,000 households in the southern central part of Dublin city. Work began on the reservoirs in the 1880's to serve three objectives: flood control, a supply of drinking water and water for millowners. There are two reservoirs, the upper lake with cleaner water from the lower, non-peaty slopes provides drinking water, while the lower lake contains peaty water from the upper slopes which supplied the numerous mills down the Dodder.

Great seeing it all from this perspective. Wonderful, thank you !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great coverage, we go almost everyday. A beautiful area in all weather's.
It sure is, thanks!
Good work here. Good shots!
Thanks a lot!
Lovely views.
very nice footage !
Thank you! Cheers!
Does anyone know how to get there from Cookstown Tallaght with no car. And if there are toilets?
You could get the bus to Kiltipper (54a) and from Kiltipper Woods there's a walkway leading up to the start of the reservoir. The reservoir loop is around 8km and absolutely beautiful in any weather. No toilets though, at one with nature.
There are (were) some toilets on the new private parking. Have a look at some more info about the trip there: www.theirishroadtrip.com/bohernabreena-reservoir-walk/
