Trucker here 👋 I had to bunker down during Helene (was not a fun time). After a hurricane the roads will be full of hazards. Trees in the road, floods etc. and 300 miles will be an interesting ride. Be careful and as you always say “pack your patience” there are always crazy drivers out there. Praying for a clear path and safety for you and yours

Wow. For the record, Milton is now a CAT 5. But I hear with this type of storm it can pare down quickly. But I was in Florida for Helene, but on the East coast. We lost power for a few hours little more. But I guess if you have to evacuate, AND PLEASE DO, then I can think of worse places to be then on a cruise ship. Have fun and save all you DOCs and photos, those things you cannot replace. Good luck.

I was just talking to my family in LeHigh Acres (near Ft. Meyers) and they are ready as they can be for this storm. I lived in hurricane alley as a kid (Homestead) and even though I was concerned about the hurricane the kid in me thought it was so cool at the same time. You are absolutely correct that the priorities are home and family. I hope that it stays as a storm and doesn't turn into a hurricane. Be safe!!

I’m praying Milton doesn’t bring too much devastation to Tampa. My daughter and her family left yesterday to visit family in California and I flew in (mom) with my daughter in law to watch the dogs for them. Had not a clue another storm was brewing. She called me this morning asking me to put the patio chairs in the garage. I thought she was crazy because one I just had total knee replacement and two I’m 60 with back issues and my daughter in law can’t help because she’s in a wheelchair with spinal cord injury from a car accident which whom I take care of. It took a minute but everything is in the garage, knee killing me but I’m glad I was able to do it.
I had a TKR earlier this year. The first month was incredibly painful- mostly at night.
My dad lives there too. I hope all goes well down there. Be safe!

I've been watching this one close, have friends with ocean front condo in Sarasota already dealing with Helene damage. Hopefully you get through this one. Cant think of a better place to evacuate to than a cruise!

Tony, 911 mb, the number 9-1-1 should be self explanatory. winds 175 mph. speed 9 mph, slow moving. Please stay safe, prepare to evacuate if needed. Also, direction west to east. Anticipate more tree and branch upheaval as prevailing winds are in the opposite direction.

Good luck! We are on the east coast where the storm is supposed to leave (Palm Coast, on the barrier island) and have been told we are supposed to get storm surge, which is unusual for a storm exit. We were on the Sun Princess in September and it was a great ship!!

Prayers all goes well for all. I have family in the Bradenton area. They fly back to Fla Sunday night, 10.06, arrive home very late and have to evacuate on Tuesday…other family is delaying going back home (Fla) later this week but have a niece who lives in Fla….praying they and all stay safe and pray homes not damaged…. Good decision Tony!
