The TV coverage was so good. I never even knew really existed until my dad was transferred to japan for his job in 1981 and we moved to Nagoya. Motorsport in general was much more mainstream there. We just never had even a hint of it on American tv. My best friend in high school (Nagoya Japan) was a big fan of rally and introduced me to it. It’s been my absolute favourite form of car racing (and cars) ever since.
31:48 wow they really just dumpped on Richard there. Dude litterally pased Didier (who after the stage would go up to Burns to state his amazement at the time) and the announcer is seemingly implying becasue there was slightly more light Burns was just gifted the lead.
1:05:30 LMAO. Burns gets a puncture. All Colin has to do is maintain a steady pace to keep his 90 sec gap to Kankkunen. …40 secs faster than everyone else on the next stage. 😂😂😂 dude is the goat 🐐 bruh
I love Nicky Grist's voice! It's like I'm playing Colin McRae Rally again :D
Rallying coverage used to be so good back then.
and free to all!
What a beauty this Impreza was...
And still is. A pure art from prodrive

Saw it live on the telly, back when I was a teenager. How exciting it was...
Steve Rider, between rally and golf, a class act

It did actually make a big difference.Earlier cars had absolutely zero visibility due to the fog.
