For the event I was wishing to go… for 8 years already, I finally made it!!! This event has already fulfilled my wish since 2016 when I first heard of the event, I wanted to go so much that I kept looking at the news of the London Transport Museum since.
Also, it was the 120th anniversary of the Metropolitan Line’s Uxbridge Branch!
I only looked at this 1938 Trainset 10012-11012 in video clips, and finally, I was able to look it with my own eyes and record this enjoyable journey myself which it was very exciting and I was able to also collect the sounds of the motor thrash of car 10012 in both the up and down directions of this Trainset. So much fun and reminds me of the motor thrash that used to be on car 278 of the MLR Trainset E104/E78 back in Hong Kong before it was scrapped. Although some friends say that it’s thrash is only similar to MLR Trainset E108/E65 or E83/E74, it really recalls memories not just to Londoner rail fans, but also to Hong Konger rail fans as well!
I took the 2:00pm departure on July 20th of this 1938 stock and was able to capture the cab of the journey to Harrow-on-the-Hill, and capture from the seat to the journey back to Uxbridge, where I was able to capture both Bogies on how strong their thrash is, which both was remarkably stronger than the 1972 stock I took later on the 24th, where I was able to compare the strength of both train types and motor of both trains. I also learned the formation of both 1938 and 1972 stocks work and they function really similarly, where if you still want to hear a motor thrash, you can ride the 1972 stock in the Bakerloo line!😁
Hope you all enjoy this video, and there will be more videos being uploaded throughout this summer!
