You got great taste. If I had to choose 3 Bikes it would be a KLR 650 a DS 350 SE and a TW 200. I’m looking for TW 200 now because I’ve got back any problems and it being lower is more practical for me but other than that the DR 350 SE is pretty much my favorite. I would love a 1984 XL 350 but this has an electric start. Lol. I’ve driven an XL 600 as well and it’s great but I really like the 350, it’s a lot easier to ride yet still has plenty of power, I can see where a younger person might want a little more power or speed out of it but the 350 is very formidable. The 250s are good but I always want a little bit more power. I think the KLR 650 has nearly perfect as it is, the TW 200 is great but I would definitely like to see it come out in a 250 or 300 cc, it’s just a bit under powered even for what it is but even with only the 200 it’s awesome, just a slow version of awesome. The DR 350 SE is just a great combination, very good off-road pretty good on the street as well plenty of power but not too out of hand come on my only real complaint on it from the stock version is the seat is kind of uncomfortable but the seat concepts fix works great. Other than putting an electric starter on a Honda XL 350 I think this is one of the best bikes out there for just a good all around tool sport do everything bike, the only exception to that would be if you’re really short.
I agree on the aftermarket tank, they do look pretty bad and get dirty and stain easily. Lately I’ve been wondering if you could put a wrap on them from a vinyl place, then you could even integrate some new graphics, but if you could take it off and have it wrapped in it would be slick vinyl and everything we just rinse off of it, I’m just not sure if it would stick or not
The tank and seat look to be in great shape. If that thing is pretty much rust free inside you’ll probably make a good bit of your money back selling that in the original seat, they’re getting pretty hard to find
Dude, love the no-nonsense video. Thanks for all the great info. The first thing I need to figure out for my recently purchased 1999 model is tires. Unfortunately, you don't list these. I want something like the Mitas E-09 or E-10, but these are not available in the 80/100 and 110/100 that come on the DR350 (not sure if these sizes cannot be changed) What tires did you go with??
Great video, thanks for including all the pricing and info. I’m looking for those 1inch Tusk bar risers, and I don’t think I can find the specific ones. Were they the 1 1/8? Also, I’m 6’3 with the same 1990. How tough was it to install those JNS 1 inch lowered foot pegs? I would like to do that as well, but I have heard it can be pretty challenging. Which specific USB port did you get? I’d like to buy one as well.
One more question Mike! For your “off road” carb swap (Mikuni TM33) did you go with the Niche Cycle conversion kit by chance? I’m about to pull the trigger on it but trying to find someone with some instillation feedback. Niche Cycle provides machined adaptors for air and engine side with new motion pro cables. Thanks for any help!
I’m looking for the jns headlight, might be a noob question but is it the same light for the dr650? I don’t see one labeled for the 350. Thanks! Slick bike and I have a purple frame as well 🤙🏽
I wouldn’t walk on it for 200. If it’s registered and has all the paperwork and it’s in good shape…..you can’t touch a dual sport for that kinda money. I’m still always looking at the used dual sport market and for 2700 bucks gets you this bike turn key with documentation I would jump on it. But remember I am very biased about this bike cause I love it.
Thank you for your video! Awesome Dr350se! Working on restoring a 97’ Dr350se myself.

Nice bike and great mods, only thing I’d add to “finish” it is adding a kickstart.
Thanks for sharing. I, too, love the DR350S. Mine is a 1991 that is still running strong.
Nice bike just picked up the same bike today 3000 miles on it can't wait to do some upgrades to suspension.
How much did you pay for it?
great video, great bike, cant wait to get mine as well.

Good talk! Many of these old bikes sell like cupcake here in Sweden now. A bike like this was up for sale in the morning and buy noon it was gone.

Thanks for the video, I guess you won't be doing many more but no worries ;) I have an enduro and an electric start, brilliant bikes.
just picked up a '97 w/4k on it, will need spring work... watched this 2x...coming off a xr650l x18 years...light(er) is right..👍

Great build. Now all u need is the big bore kit and will be gold up to 75 on freeway.
which big bore kit? I got the pumper carb on it and I can hit 65 but any higher is uncomfortable
@@Sam-xt5gb built motors / thumper racing still has a big bore kit, i think around 430cc
A true DIY unicorn dual sport. Congrats. If Suzuki were to re-release thta bike they would sell so much they wouldnt be able to keep up.
Very helpful,
Thanks 🤘🤘🤘

Check out procycle.com. It’s labeled 90-93 dr350s. It fits in any dr350
Hey Michael, love the video! Is there any chance of you considering parting ways with this bike in the future and selling?

Are you going to dry lock the floor?
