Perhaps, one has to empathize with a marker maker to protect himself for the unknown, thereby increasing the bid and ask. a matter of circumstance. Another criterion is liquid options such as AMD, perhaps the tightest of anyone. Never one answer.

Selling naked calls is dangerous for beginner option traders. Start with iron butterfly LOL
I agree 100%: Selling naked calls is VERY dangerous, and you should only do it when you know what you're doing. Iron Condors and butterflies will help to limit the risk, but you also have to give up some premium for the protection. Every trader should decide what he or she is most comfortable with.
