It was an unforgettable moment. I've been waiting to see you again ever since. The Darkness meant a lot to me. I started playing guitar and bought an epiphone black beauty Les Paul after watching your video for Love is Only a Feeling. I wanted a bigsby too, to replicate your brother's Gibson, but it was far too expensive for me. I learnt all your songs by ear on that guitar and played them on school events (even though I was the only kid that knew them). I'm 22 now, and I'm more into other music genres. But I still think One Way Ticket to Hell is THE BEST rock album of the 2000s, by far. 10 years passed since I first heard it, and I'm still amazed by that production. Dinner Lady Arms and Bald are still among my favorite songs of all time. You are my childhood hero, and this channel allowed me to know you and connect with you in a whole different way. Thank you! That was the soundtrack of my family's life, I was Dewey to my kids, teaching rock & roll. My daughter & I are at almost every Darkness show in our town. (You guys have the best VIP, thank-you). She is now 25 and her favourite Darkness album is OWTTH. Are you Dewey to your daughter? Has she figured out how awesome you are yet, and who has musical control in the car?

Disagree with Bruce being a good guy. Totally stiffed a charity he was a patron of (I was working with them at the time). He ghosted them and the charity had to refund money (it was a lot) that was bid for a prize he offered at the charity auction. Really disappointing.

Since you mention them, Judas Priest have always been one of my favourite metal bands I never will forget seeing their video for their album title track 'Painkiller' as a kid and immediately wanting to be Glen Tipton. Now he himself, is certainly a jewel in the British metal crown, surely ;) I'd love to see you do a video on that track, Justin ... there's tonnes of fun in it to break down, Rob Halford's vocals are just so ridiculous it is impossible to dislike. Electric Eye is definitely their best song I think. It was the inspiration for the Might Morphin Power Rangers theme tune,and was used as a placeholder song during production. Theres actually a version here on youtube, with the MMPR music and Electric Eye vocals. You should check it out!

TV themes. Oh lordy so many good ones. I loved Mike Post themes, Hill St Blues, Greatest American Hero. He had great intros. The only one I go back to listen to regularly these days is Hard Times sung by David Cassidy, when he starred in Man Undercover 1978.
AIRWOLF!! Totally rules, and so does Knight Rider, which was so excellently quoted by SOAD in ieaiaio!

Alan Hawkshaw wrote the Grangehill theme, the Countdown theme and clock music and the themes for Dave Allen at Large and Parkinson and a bunch more TV themes, plus classic 60s jams, like the Champ, which is one of the most sampled tunes ever.

Since you mention them, Judas Priest have always been one of my favourite metal bands
I never will forget seeing their video for their album title track 'Painkiller' as a kid and immediately wanting to be Glen Tipton.
Now he himself, is certainly a jewel in the British metal crown, surely ;)
I'd love to see you do a video on that track, Justin ... there's tonnes of fun in it to break down, Rob Halford's vocals are just so ridiculous it is impossible to dislike.

Electric Eye is definitely their best song I think. It was the inspiration for the Might Morphin Power Rangers theme tune,and was used as a placeholder song during production. Theres actually a version here on youtube, with the MMPR music and Electric Eye vocals. You should check it out!
Alan Hawkshaw wrote the Grange Hill Theme. It's actually called Chicken Man, and was previously used - possibly contemporaneously - on Ask Aspel, or was it Give Us a Clue? Something Michael Aspel related, anyway.
