Wow. I'm impressed that you guys are covering so much of the north! So many travelers don't get to see the magic of that part of the Philippines. The peacefulness, the hospitality, and the culture. If you're looking for a community that exudes what living in the mountain regions is like, please check out Kiangan Ifugao! Enjoy the trip, this is what living looks like

Those hills that got burned will eventually back to it’s beauty for 3 months which is the rainy season in the Philippines. Sometimes locals burned those bushes so that when rainy seasons comes up new bushes will grow and it would be better pastures for their livestock.

Please don't forget to unwind as much as possible during weekends. We appreciate dailies very much, but make sure to get some quality time while enjoying the sights. It's also very easy to ask around there because even the Ifugao kids are very good speakers and most of them even have American accents. They also have good local coffee there. Good job @ George at handling left-handed drive btw

Wish you drove up to Sagada. Been there 5 times and exploring the caves really made me feel great! Artist's haven.. organic food.. Coffee.. Oranges.. Pears.. You would have passed by a beautiful rice terraces, too with stone ripraps/walls! ;)
Did you stop by the Bontoc museum? Great ethnic artifacts there.. Banaue Hotel is close to where you had your meal. They have great arts and crafts on display.
Perhaps you are now heading back to Manila via Solano. Nothing much to see on the way. Be careful in driving along Sta. Fe road--it's winding and the highway is the main route of trucks loaded with rice from Cagayan valley. Expect medium to heavy road traffic until you reach the expressway in Tarlac.

The Banaue Rice terraces has its own beauty to define on how Great the place is. . . by the way, I recommend you guys to visit Buscalan, Kalinga Apayao, Philippines. IN there, you will meet Whang-od Oggay (born February 17, 1917) is a Filipina tattoo artist and a 102 Years old from Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga Apayao, Philippines. She is thought as the last mambabatok (traditional Kalinga tattooist) from the Butbut people in Buscalan, Kalinga Apayao and the oldest tattoo artist in the Philippines. The Banaue is not far from Kalinga Apayao. Thank you. . .

If it is intentional, it's called Kaingin. While not recommended anymore due to fires possibly being uncontrollable, it's still practiced in places that have more trees than land to plant on. The other reason is that they want to change crops and let the fires burn away the previous plantings.

Hey guys great and amazing. However, you haven't gone through halfway of the biggest Island of the Philippines yet. You went back to Manila too soon via Angeles City which means you drove out through Bessang Pass. You should drive during the day if ypu go to those places so ypu can see most amazing views from.the whole road trip but you missed most pf it as ypu drive thrpugh the night amd try to rush out of the place too soon. You didn't even go through Sagada Caves and the Hanging Coffins and other places around that area. It's a pity. You didn't ask the locals where to go basically. Anyways, you've gone there but didn't go through the place fully and properly.
