@@jackkrell7313 Yeah. Off the top of my head, when he thrusts his wing forward like a blade, (usually before a spin) its hitbox lasts way too long. I remember dodging in after the move was done, only to get hit by it. Gives me Velkhana tail thrust vibes.
Khezu doesn't have a theme to emphasize that he's blind and needs to be able to hear it's prey. If you just stand still in a Khezu fight and don't make noise, there's only a very small chance he'll actually hit you (at least from MH1). He's also immune to flashbombs because, like I said, he's blind. Even the eye-icon that tells you when a monster is hostile towards you isn't there in the Khezu fight. It's a silent, eerie fight and it's great. That said, I love the rest of the choices you had for your Tier and respect them, even if you are a dirty Longsword main. Much love
Never understood why people think that jet dragon is so silly and more like a final fantasy monster than monster hunter. To me it fits pretty organically with the series with stretching limbs being nothing new and dragon energy powered air pump to propel itself being awesome and self-explanatory, with some parts of this stuff being used by IRL animals (pumping air or water to move is nothing new, neither are holes on tips of the bird's wing bones if i remember right). Especially considering that world gave us xeno, safi and shara. How are those normal monsters, but decently logical monster is too whacky (not to mention some other things in main series like Yama (nothing wrong there, love him), congalala, some deviants; and some of frontier folks)?
Don't see how xeno,Safi and shara make no logical sense Xeno is a species that absorbs energy from around itself to grow,thats literally how stuff grows up. Shara uses its modified wings and body(which has alot of holes similar to valstrax) to create sonic beams that breaks down rock.
I think it has to do with the fact that MH is very a ehh, historic setting. So seeing a jet is such a juxtaposition to the overall theme that it's kinda funny.

I'm mean, it's called a "bowgun" but you can't convince me that the heavy isn't basically just a gun. And then there's a Lance that basically fires missiles.

Man, my boy nibblesnarf needs more love. He's so cool! He's got a unique design, a name that always makes me chuckle, and really cool mechanics like the bomb swallowing that cause his fight to stand out. It just a nice light hearted not very serious fight, yet some people hate him so much. The event nibblesnarf back in 3U though... that was horrifying, My opinion on lagiacrus and its various versions. Im regards to having a land based lagiacrus, while I really don't want him to return to the series (although i know he will) until underwater returns. (If it ever does) I loved ivory, because being a land based lagi was his specific theme, same goes for abyssal and being only underwater. That type of theme was very cool. I wish they'd just bring back ivory for any games with no underwater and leave out og lagi. We really don't need to have the base form to have the subspecies. Well I guess I got my wish about goblin tier being renamed... to bad like goblins I also love gobul... why do you enjoy hurting me so rad? Gobuls a good lil boy. His design is great too.

really i think the only problem with your last tier list is that how you were ranking the monsters felt all over the place. it seemed like some monsters were ranked based only on thier visual design, others with ranked only on their fight, and others both. so it felt like monsters weren't be ranked based on the same criteria, to me at least.
Let's goooo! Looking forward to seeing where everything lands. Also I think World has a weaker roster compared to third and fourth gen. Would drop Kushala to the lowest tier possible, always hated that thing. Edit; Great Jaggi being in the literally god tier makes me really happy. Glad to see someone appreciate the -aggi's some more. I would put the Qurupecoes in the literally god tier as well (well at least Crimson), and the same goes for Gammoth. I can see why Chameleos is low, but out of the elders, I like it the most. Chameleos is so beautifully wierd and the pace of the fight is so interesting. It moving like a chameleon rather then a dragon changes the feel and makes it stand out a lot. Overall real solid rankings, it was fun to see what you think of the monsters.

World focussing on elder dragons as much as it does also doesn't help the roster in my opinion. Elders shouldn't be this abundant and Kushala should not be in the game in the first place.
I actually love the fact that Kezu has no music. A monsters song is triggered when the monster sees you, but Kezu is blind therefore he never sees you thus his song can never begin
To me the only egregious decision on this tier list is Vaal Hazak on thin ice. To me it was unique enough, design wise, to be considered a few tiers higher. It may not have been the most FUN fight, but I am just in love with how he looks. A literal Lich Necromancer Dragon? Yeah count me in. I just wish it had more spectacle to the fight like Kushala or Teostra. Hopefully they can redesign his fight in a later game.
G. Jaggi was my first hunt ever and no low tier monster has ever come close. It's a fun, comfortable fight with a pretty good armor payout. Really good at teaching core mechanics. Just perfect design for ita intended purpose.

XD I was mistaken, I disagree with you. :) Underwater fighting was neat and the Gobul fight was amazing. the amount of precision you need to effectively destroy his lantern and to dodge his underwater roll attack was perfect. On land, he was a little boring, it was very easy to hit his lantern and to cut off the tail when he was on land so I guess, nice if you need to farm him but if you like to have a challenging fight, don't pull out the lure and jump in!
I honestly agree with a lot of these takes in comparison to the last tier list. For me it usually comes down to how fun the fight is. Because of that, there’s so much that moves around for me as monsters get updated and reworked in later games. I liked your point about Cedeaus- it’s one of the fights and spectacles that makes underwater worth it for me. Also, as much as I dislike him in other games- I would put Plesioth where you put him JUST because of his fight in 3U. Even with the underwater jank, seeing him underwater makes his design make WAY more sense, and I honestly really like seeing how almost “graceful” he is in his natural habitat. I understand the university student grind- it’s rough. I really enjoy the content, keep up the good work!

I don't always agree with you here, but the Jhen Mohran ranking is indisputable. The atmosphere was perfect, the gameplay was actually fun, and Jhen was an active monster rather than a passive damage sponge.
Oh boy I do think you are in for a treat when you play p3rd. In terms of quality of the game I praise it as much as 4u except it never got g rank so it sadly doesn't have much content. There is a lot to love about finishing Amatsu in p3rd so I'm really glad I did it there before in mhgu. I thought that Duramboros and Nibelsnarf fit into the game perfectly with their unique mechanics you use to create openings and access their weak points. Also you have to appreciate all of the good it did to the palico system and all the weapons it added that tri removed. Easily one of the best entries in the series.
I can't think of anything on this tier list that I fully disagree with, at most all I would do is move certain monsters up or down one tier based on my personal bias but I'd never move a monster up or down two or more tiers

Velocidrome is simplicity at its best, striking aggressive red crest on a blue scaled monster, the sword and shield Velocidrome Bite (I think?) was one of my first ever "Now this weapon is cool and my monster killing amounted to something!" weapons as a beginner and always has fond memories for me.
See I was so hooked when you told me on Twitter you put Great Jaggi at a great spot But the fact you put Jhen all the way up there with Jaggi? Fuck what anyone says this is literally the best tier list there is
I have absolutely nothing against the other fated four members, but encountering gammoth in the wild for the first time in generations is just one of my favorite mh moments. Just this gigantic beast, the size which normally needs its own map, just walking across the icy mountains alone.
The reason khezu does not have a theme song is cause he's doesn't have eyes so he's blind and the music starts when a monster See's you so it doesn't start cause he's blind
Besides the powder spam I loved the fight. Just got to him a few days ago in GU and I for whatever reason I audibly gasped when he did like a dive attack past me and instead of turning around, his head turns first and then he just spins his body right after like a spinning sword move. MH animations are the GOAT
Shogun Ceanataur deserves it's own tier list above all others; it should be beyond god, and can easily defeat 1 billion lions on it's own and this is all fact.

Yama Tsukami was Monster Hunter's version of Cthulhu. I honestly hope it makes a comeback. They could do crazy things with the fight nowadays.

I respect every placement but malfestio. One of the best designs in the entire series easily. The fight is meh though I have to admit.
Besides the powder spam I loved the fight. Just got to him a few days ago in GU and I for whatever reason I audibly gasped when he did like a dive attack past me and instead of turning around, his head turns first and then he just spins his body right after like a spinning sword move. MH animations are the GOAT
