Hey Steve, material wise the fibers are bigger and thicker on a mallard. I started out using dyed mallard cause wood duck is expensive. So give it a shot. Once you get good though you’ll want to invest in some wood duck. It’s one of those feathers that’s impossible to match with dye. Have fun 👍

whats the difference between wood duck and mallard? thinking of hendrikson and using lemon coloured mallard
