ts made me sob so hard my nose was so runny 😭 It hit hard first on the Dog's death the moment Maquia ran away and cried. Then it did again when Ariel called Maquia "Mama" for one last time after the war ended but I haven't sobbed up until the ending I started tearing up on "welcome back" and completely bawled my eyes out on "I'm breaking my promise" This was such a great film both visually, world building, and storytelling, not to mention the beautiful soundtrack. This made me cry more than Grave of the Fireflies did.

When me and my family were watching Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous, we were definitely weirded out by the lesbian couple that was put in. I’m pretty sure we all didn’t like it not because “Girl love is bad”, we didn’t like it because there wasn’t any build-up. Nowhere in the series until the very end had we seen the two girls like each other, not one of the even googly eyed. And doing something that felt weird and not characterized felt awkward and stupid. Bloom Into You did it better because that was the whole point. From point one, it was bluntly lesbian. Best part is that it wasn’t shameful about it either. It was proud and bold, something true and positive. That’s why I love it so much. Love in media for me had been alright, but when seeing this made me realize real and pure love. Not counting My Deer Friend Nokotan, this was the first anime I’ve watched. Doing queer couples right is a hard thing, but nothing like this has ever made me tear up by the ninth episode. Work of art.

I was really ticked off when Maquia just left Ariel and dipped but then return to Ariel when he’s 5 minutes away from death however aside that I really like the movie

It's a shame that they didn't make s2, so when I finished the first season i was like "no, nonono, this can't end like this!😢" so I found the manga and read it, it's so cute🤩😍 I reccomend it!

This movie isn't outstanding, the animation isn't marvelous nor groungbreaking, and the story itself isn't anything new. Yet since the first time I watched this movie 3 years ago I still find myself coming back to it every now and then, even if its just to watch a few scenes. I really loved this movie.

I honestly thought this was a degenerate one shot but it turned out to be something pretty relatable to me in the fact that I wanted to do music so bad but it just didn't really work out for me and I'm jealous of the musicians that made it big. It's something I'm full of passion for but passion isn't enough. You have to know the right people and find the right people for a band and I never found those people

I totally stumbled upon this movie on TH-cam, it was free to watch and the art style intrigued me. So I gave it a shot and I am so glad I did! As a first time mother it can really hammer home all the anxiety that comes with being a parent, and seeing how Maquia even though she made mistakes was still able to raise her son to live a loving and full filling life is so powerful! I think you're right even if you aren't a parent you can get a sense of what it is like through this movie! Thank you for this heartfelt video for such a beautiful movie!

Too many anime go for the harem plot - that lower the rating for me by 2 points. Lacking character development, that's a bit of a problem. Giving it a chance is always an option.

i've just finished this anime and its so peak looking at this anime at a deeper level its honestly so well written the themes and conflict are soo good this has to be one of the most underrated rom coms out there

Loved your review, and i agree with everything!! Also talking about the romantic side of the film, and relating it to the selfish-selfless concept, i like the contrast between Josee and Mai, how Mai has a very selfish love for Tsuneo, she wants him to give up on his dream to go to Mexico so he can stay with her, she only cares about herself, not Tsuneo actually, while Josee has a really selfless love for him, everything she wants is that he is happy and reaches his dream no matter what, even if he has to leave to Mexico and separate from her, she truly cares for him. This concept also reminds me to the movie Lalaland, if you actually love someone you let them be free and follow their dreams, and you will feel happy for them even if you can't be together with that person (but gladly in this movie's case they end up together) :') I love Josee so much because of that, and also how both helped each other to reach their dreams against what other people says in both cases. Peak movie ❤

I've had people be way meaner, saying stuff along the lines of death would be mercy because that isn't life. She only has 1 leg paralyzed. People walk into her and don't even look up from their phones to apologize.

Watched the movie last night and god did it make me ache everywhere. I have an infant son so it made me realize I won’t always be there for my son, so I will appreciate all the moments that’s to come

i just finished watching the movie, and i don't really get it, and going through the comments as well i see that many people has a lot of opinions on the movie. I wasn't able to grasp the concept i guess. and one thing that kind of put me off about it was the fact that she had to cripple him first in order to understand things like her feelings? i don't really get it

Imagine if all the budget from these shows 7 ppl will watch was put into a 12 episode series, to condense budget into something actually hype

Deserves a season 2 for sure.
