This song reminds me of my uncle, even heard him say “SOB give me a drink” many times while dealing with his alcoholic ass before he finally got clean, The genius of the lyrical dissonance in this soul song will be missed by some but my hat goes off to you gentlemen. This is gonna be in my favourites playlist for a long time.
So Glad Rateliff is Finally Getting Recognized Around the World Now for his FANTASTIC Talent after 20 yrs of playing in Denver. Nathaniel is humble and worked hard his entire life. Nothing was ever handed to him. Saw him Live in SLC, Utah. DON'T MISS this Group if they Come to YOUR Town!
This had to be the best performance of this song ever. Preservation hall and Ratcliff and the night sweats at the top of their game. Talk about missing out big time.
What a BLAST! We called it "THREE chords & a cloud a' dust!" back in the day. Music IS a universal language, although it's REALLY spoken and understood FLUENTLY in the American South & the basic grammar had come by way of Africa. "GOSPEL" of the foot-stompin' hand-clappin' variety (that The Blues Brothers had a hand in reawakening a new generation to) sure got a blast of SOUL compared to the pale, bloodless kind the Puritans brought over on the Mayflower. Sorry to preach... Thanks for your time! Praise the Lured!!
@Ulysses432 So the members of the Night Sweats are just up there pretending to play their instruments and leaving all the hard work of actually making the SOUND to the PRESERVATION HALL BAND are they oh wise Ulysses?
the fact that this doesnt have 500.000.000 views pisses me off. Ive always lived by the idea that if a song is good, it will be loved no matter the age of the viewer, and for some parts it has held up, but the media has succeeded verry wel to focus our youth to just one side of music.
Kinda strange Wesley is just watching along while the other guy not in the band plays... I miss Wesley in the band, he was always so fun to watch and brought wonderful energy.. But, things change, keep on truckin Night Sweats!
Wesley rocked a.solo. He was just hanging back and letting the PHJ boys get some shine. Common courtesy when you're a ghost in someone's ' house'. Brother was hardly watching. He was enjoying someone else getting it for a change. I hope he's recovered and can join them again soon.
@Ben Phelps Then why was Rolling Stone Australia there????? I believe they were in Australia for this show! Otherwise, it makes no sense why Rolling Stone Australia was there!!
"My heart is aching. My hands are shaking. Bugs are crawling all over me". The anthem of 2020. Hell, for anyone with intellect, scruples, or a soul, it's the official anthem of the Trump years.
1blastman the trumpet player is Wes Watkins. He definitely brings some energy...had the pleasure of seeing him with Nathaniel Rateliff, however I don't think he's with them anymore.
Wes is not currently playing with Ratelff due to a medical problem. Didnt hear what the problem was, but i guess the demands of the road aggravated the condition because Wes is still performing locally. hopefully, doctors can treat him, or cure him and get hm back on the road. he fits perfectly with this band.
There were two trumpet players, one was wearing a vest and danced a lot, but there was a guy in the background who really laid it down! Is that guy Wes Watkins? His solos were just right tor the song.
No one I have ever played this song for has ever not loved it. Great music from these guys!
All the way to New Orleans and no where else ! ! ! !
You know.... this kind of song you never want it stop....

I like that he sits back and showcases his band .....let's them do their thing and get recognized.
@Ulysses432 So the members of the Night Sweats are just up there pretending to play their instruments and leaving all the hard work of actually making the SOUND to the PRESERVATION HALL BAND are they oh wise Ulysses?
@Ulysses432 So we're now clear the Night Sweats are up there as well? That's good.

Deaf community.
Me too, they can't keep up with those truly sweating!!!
Nice folks. But they clap on the one and the three.

@Ben Phelps

I believe they were in Australia for this show!
Otherwise, it makes no sense why Rolling Stone Australia was there!!
It’s right in the title, gents.... Preservation Hall, right in New Orleans
🍻
Is that Ray Dalio @1:18?
At 5:34, it sure looks like Barack Obama playing in the bottom left corner......
hahaha! mullah Barack!
This jam session ain't nearly long enough and there's not nearly enough people playing or enjoying it...
"My heart is aching.
My hands are shaking.
Bugs are crawling all over me".
The anthem of 2020. Hell, for anyone with intellect, scruples, or a soul, it's the official anthem of the Trump years.
😂😂😂😂😂
reel deal
Who's the trumpet player?

Thanks, he plays like a local. Which is a high compliment.
