Rupp is awesome. Some of his miced up moments are the best. People who don’t understand fighting in hockey should listen to this. It’s all you need to know.

I took my grandfather a few years ago to meet Chara with me, one of the greatest smiles I've ever seen on his face. Chara is a true professional, but even more so...he's a true hockey player. Hearing him discuss the sport, the process and the grind of it all, you could see his love for it. Keep it up boys! 🏒🍻

Boils my blood whenever Matt Cooke’s name comes up. Guy should be jailed for the shit he pulled

Rangers fan here. I hated what Cooke did to Marc. And l hated the trade that sent him to CGY for Lundmark (Jesus, what a disaster) and I was happy to see him flourish for you guys

Wow incredible story , I remember that game vividly and still often go back to watch that fight much respect to Rupp to not only have accepted that fight but to give us all the details behind that one , i never got back too loving hockey like in the late 90s 00s and early 10s since the nhl got way to soft and pretty much made sure to almost eradicate those old 6’3 6’4 250 pounds goons . Game like the islanders vs Penguins brawl or the Canadiens vs bruins 2011 brawl or the devils vs rangers first shift like three fight at the time brawl i missed those days man 😞

th-cam.com/video/TCevAvzvw8A/w-d-xo.html Cooke really did answer the call.. He didn't do that lame stuff where they accept the fight and take as little damage as possible.
th-cam.com/video/g_nwclehpqc/w-d-xo.html Story is totally accurate accept they didn't end up getting that 1-2 goal advance. Was still 1-0 for Pitts but can't fault him for not remember the score of one game from over a decade ago.. Was shocked when Rupp he said he was 6.5. He looks mini next to Chara, and it's exactly as he says.. He can't get anywhere near his face with his punches. Great fight anyways though and huge respect for Ruppers for even taking that one in the first place. He held up well for the size disadvantage

The Cooke cheapshot happened the season before the bruins won the cup. How do you mess your story up so badly?

As a Bruins fan,, it was interesting to hear a Penguins' opinion on the Matt Cooke incident. He ruined a great player's career and life and left his team in a horribly uncomfortable position. I have a feeling every guy on that team hated having to cover for him. I understand that is what teammates do; and good job even though it was probably not really something anyone of them wanted to do. As far as Chara...he is worshiped in Boston because of everything that Rupper just mentioned. A beast of a competitor on the ice but still a polite and caring man. I wish I could turn back the clock 10 years for him so he could keep playing the game he loves. Even if it wasn't for Boston (just not Pittsburgh or Montreal! LOL). Great interview guys! Keep it up.

have you ever heard other players stick up for him ? He was garbage . Chara should have won the lady byng every year because really if he was that mean and wanted to he could literally kill someone on nearly any shift - That was a good Bruins team but i do no think it is an accident that they won the cup the year he nearly killed Max Pacioretty

Chara at best was a spot picker who avoided the top heavyweights. He was no beast......
