Great Vid, thank goodness video cameras were invented early enough to capture this sort of footage. 100% Bognor Regis. The funfair the real give away, even when the shots were of them queuing, I was saying that the Dodgems and the that's the red Parasol/Umbrella ride (think it was called the paratrooper), before the rides came into shot. The Peter Pan Railway was in that position (now Go Carts), with the side of the Gaiety Building behind it and the arcade entrance into the funfair at 08:05. Can also see the playing fields and the Reception Building in the distance when the Parasol ride was going around. Went to Bognor nearly every year from 1973 - 1998, so unmistakable for me.
Hi wearecity - it's deelieta from Butlins Memories. I agree with everything you've written. Fabulous memories of the camp I knew the best when I was young. I've put a link to another clip with footage of the skaelectrix room !
Hi Deelieta. It's Scritti from BM. What's going on with the BM site? Can't log in anymore since these new laws apparently. Does that mean the forum is basically gone forever (sob)??
Hey deelieta and everyone, forgot I'd posted to this video. Brilliant linked video deelieta, never seen it before. Spoookie, yes there was a Regency Ballroom, the building was replaced with the Aquasplash pool in the late 80's and the main family bar upstairs was the Princes Bar, it had an amusement arcade in the corner. Rich, I believe the forums will be read only from now, but TBH, with Facebook, Twitter etc, the forums were in decline for years. I hadn't been a regular for many years to the forums, after being a daily visitor for many a year before.
Butlins how is once was. I loved spending my holidays at Butlins always plenty to do. Butlin's has been ruined now though hardly any rides at all nowadays. You can't beat the Butlins of the 60s 70s and 80s.
1980, the Year Billy Butlins passed away, I was there that year working, also the year the Indoor swimming pool exploded and flooded out the dance hall and restaurant, There was a Great Bar there called The Blinking Owl, Great Sing along Bar
Its definitely bognor regis from the car park area and the small indoor area where the rides were... WOW, brings back good memories. At a guess Id say 1982...
When England actually looked English. Amazing bit of footage, thank you for sharing.
Fantastic times, stay with me forever.❤❤

I was half expecting Granny to suddenly appear driving slowly around amongst the dodgems
It was quite rare to see a mobility scooter in the early 80. Reckon the family probably all chipped in for it as they were quite expensive.
Its spooky looking at stuff from the past.
I worked there as a photographer in 1985 for one year. I had a great time.

Now i see it again it looks like eastern Europe circa 2005!

@0:20 Doris has taken one of the dodgems on a joyride
It's Minehead, not Skegness At 01:14 there is a sign in the background which reads "Gaiety Theatre"
it looks like butlins bognor regis fair to me
they had Gaiety Theatre at skegg
@@rick-re7xk They also had a Gaiety at Filey which closed 83" check out the RIP Butlins filey post
Definitely bognor Regis. What year was this
1985
@IainLucey1972 "it was filmed at a Butlins camp m8888888888888888888888888888888888888888" - Kate 2015
That's Skegness I thing as some the old building are still there I'm sure
Time goes by all things and machines.transportation are upgraded more better

Who is the poor woman that had to follow her mumround for the first minutes 2.30
Those kids will be nearly 50 now.
Definitely not Minehead and I’d say around 1987ish?
Haha back in the days when you could jump off a ride while it was still moving.
Alex J Blower lol. Now you’d probably get shouted and sworn at by someone for climbing off.
Think this is Minehead.
it's bognor regis
I think it's definitely filey ! 😊
1980s?
What with an old woman in an electric mobility scooter?
Don't think so.
