    I have a very specific area I want the wall to be centered on but what if the studs don’t start and end on the ends of the slat wall? I know it may not have the highest strength possible but is it still doable if the end don’t exactly end on studs? I would just avoid loading the ends with anything heavy….

    I assume I can install over electrical outlet by removing cover cut a hole (making sure I have it laid out for the center of a slat) and reinstalling plug and cover, correct?

    • @ProslatInc
      @ProslatInc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bob, Absolutely! You might need a box extender for the outlet.

    • @ProslatInc
      @ProslatInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Anthony, absolutely! We recommend using either a mitre saw or a jigsaw to cut the slats.

    Can you install without the trims? Are the trims for beauty only or do they have any structural role?

    • @ProslatInc
      @ProslatInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don't need to install the trims if you don't want to but they are included in the kit. They are mostly for aesthetics and it makes your installation easier keeping your panels perfectly aligned and squared.

      I probably wont use the trim. so I could separae the panels into different locations. more flexible. just make sure your bottom one is leveled and just stack them on.

    So pissed off with this product. The panels do not interlock as mentioned in 2:36. I've bent the hell out of the sides of my panel trying to make this work. Any suggestions would be great as I at the point of getting a refund.

    Can this be put up like siding without the side trim, laying it out like brick overlapping? I am thinking about doing the whole garage, minus cabinets.

    • @ProslatInc
      @ProslatInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The trims are not mandatory they are there for a clean finish look and to keep your panels straight. If you don't use any trims you'll have a seam showing depending on the length of your wall.

    I purchased 4x8 panel and the screws in the package is 2 inches. i can't drill the screws into stud of my garage wall. I only can drill into almost 1 inch. Can I use 1 inch screws instead of the default 2 inches screws?

      i think it really depends on hwo many tools and how much weight you are gonna put on it. if just small tools, no problem. if you want to hang heavier stuft like bike, big hammer, big electric tools, then you need to make it secure.

    Where i buy these ?

  • @babyh2121
    @babyh2121 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm interested in installing these myself. Generally, these are marketed such as "4'x8' " panels. However, how are they actually shipped? I presume it comes in individual panels, which aggregate up to say 4'x'8'. If so, what are the dimensions, per panel?

    • @ProslatInc
      @ProslatInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Henry, Absolutely. The panels are shipped as induvial slats. Each single slat is 95 7/8" long by 5 3/4" high uninstalled. However, there is an overlap when you install the panels as the screw cavity is hidden when the next panel is installed. When 2 panels are installed they make 10 1/2" high excluding the hook cavity. I hope this helps. By having the slats individualized you're able to create different configurations ex: 2' high x 16' long etc.. Thanks!

    Anyone from your company checked your instruction manual and this video? How to cut j trim in 2 pieces of 48.5" =(97in) when the j trim is only 96"(little bit less but for sake of argument is 96")?

    Can I install this onto a concrete wall?

    • @ProslatInc
      @ProslatInc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can. If your walls are made of concrete or blocks, you will need to fasten 2 x 3 in. studs or furring strips vertically at 16 in. using a cement screw and then install your panels to the studs.

      Anyone tried it? I’m using tapcons into the concrete wall. It’s solid but the tapcon heads that I’m using don’t fit in between the top cavity as shown at 2:23 . The slats need to bend a little.

    • @nlaws33
      @nlaws33 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just did this. Yes you can. I would recommend milwaukee 5/32" carbide hammer drill bits (buy a 5 pack), and 3/16"x2 3/4" tapcon concrete screws - every 16" (5 screws per panel. Its a hard installation but it works.

      I think you should just ballpark it. start from light and small ones, then add gradually and see if there is any deformity on the panel. usually the data that the manufacturer gives has some room to stretch.

    Why does everything ive watched show it having two full lengths of side trim yet when you order the kit the side trim has already been cut to half the length. Now entire project on hold until I get the full length pieces. Just think maybe shouldn't show it like that's how it comes when a 4×8 kit comes with the 4' side pieces already cut to 4'. I ordered two sets thinking I just wouldn't cut them and use each from each set per side to be the proper length for a full 8ft. It really doesn't make sense as to why you would precut them unless to require another purchase or maybe you are using short pieces from scraps but if not it would really make more sense to just send 1 single full stick which could be cut in half for a 4ft section for both sides or if people buy multiple sets it's still usable don't you think? 🤔

      Hi Nappy! We're sorry to hear that our videos caused you some confusion and some inconvenience in starting your project. We have changed the boxes for multiple reasons. One of the main reasons is that unfortunately, we had to evolve our product packaging size due to the reality of current shipping standards regarding overlength boxes. We have updated all of our product descriptions to show the changes in the parts list. We even added in our video description that our new packaging comes with the side trims already cut. We are working on a new installation video to show these changes additionally. Please feel free to contact us directly about this issue, and we will try our best to make an unfortunate situation better! Thank you,
