I was in Law enforcement for 33 years and have both the M-4 and 1301 tactical. By far the 1301 is lighter, shoots better, faster, comes equipped right out of the box and is cheaper to purchase. Its an absolute no brainer. The better choice is the 1301
Nice shotguns there! Finally found a lgs that had a couple 1301’s so got to handle them. One was the standard model in green and the other was a black Tactical like yours. Was tempted but can’t buy anything right now. Already have an M4 LE with the collapsible stock and full length tube. Was Marine Infantry so it’s a nostalgia thing

Out of the box the 1301 pretty much has all the upgrades to the Taran Tactical M4. How much more $$ is it to upgrade everything on the M4? I just placed an online order for the 1301 tactical 😎
When I got to the store to buy “a best fun shotgun available, no matter the price”, very trusted store owner advised me on the Beretta 1301 tactical, though he had both - M4 and 1301 in stock. His reason : 1301 lighter, cheaper and real fun to shoot ( realistically we understand, that , living in Brooklyn, NY, all you can do with a shotgun is to go to a rage ) and does the same job, if not better, than Benelli M4. I got the basic model: 7+1, regular straight stock with plastic hall for a sling on it and this little stamp on the barrel: Beretta, Gardone, made in Italy - priceless! Now, what I want to share, because it turned out to be just perfect: I bought and installed a Limbsaver ( for All Beretta ) - ideal fit, I bought and installed the Bushnell Advance micro red dot ( and can’t be happier ), I bought this :MOSANDON 12-Gauge Red Dot Laser Bore Sight for adjusting the Red Dot ( worked like a charm ) and a sling, this one : SOMA 2 Point QD Sling ( I had to widen the hall on the stock, which took me one minute ). The sling really helps with “loop around” technique, when you shoot in standing position. And finally, I had removed the rear iron sight ( the Ghost Ring ), I have fabricated out of a hard plastic the strip to cover the groove, where the sight had been and attached it to the sight place with the same two screws. And this is it. I got a beauty: light, perfectly balanced, all you need for the purpose shotgun. If it only could “eat” the mini’s, even if with manual recycling…
Had a choice between the 1301 for $1800 and a m4 1014 for $2k. Chose the m4, after upgrades easily $2400 but will easily pass down to my kids and so forth. A tank of shotgun
My forend lug sheared off my 1301 LE and no hangs off the side.. is there moving parts that could have damaged it? I had many failure to ejects first 100 rounds then ran great and boom Fronde lug gone. I ordered another forend.
Comparing both guns receivers would be more accurate if you had one receiver directly underneath the other. You said the 1301's receiver is shorter. The 1301 is wrongly positioned to the rear of the M4 because you have them lined up primarily by the stocks and barrels. So, measuring the receivers is totally cock-eyed the way you did it.
So I've owned two already... ive noticed they're different... the first, has a threaded barrel for a choke... this new one does not... little disturbing but not something I used/use. Just nice to have the options

You should have lined them up for length at the rear of the receiver. The difference is not in the receiver as much as the stock. The 1301 stock is shorter for use with body armor. I like the 1301 better purely for price vs what comes standard out of the box. Got a 1301 like the one in your video and immediately got rid of my m4.

So the 1301 is better for me because of the cheek riser and it’s as good as the m4 but less expensive. So whatever your opinion is on the m4 that you got from playing COD in your parents basement, and watching John wick is useless to the people who actually own and shoot guns
Why? Slapping on magpul stick and forend and calling it better is a matter of opinion... its already got a 7rnd tube, don't need the aimpoint mount... they don't change anything on the operating system, so not sure what you're referring to as comparable
@@chef.papa.6tango523 I bought the Magpul SGA Mossberg w/ggg adapter upgrade for the 1301 and it was the worst mistake I made.. added some weight but the Recoil Pad and Extra Weight Suck and the Grip isn't any better than the oem stock! I'm thinking of putting the OEM back on or upgraded to the Mesa Pistol Grip instead!

The benelli being heavier makes it recoil less.

There are not many moving parts. The gas system is under there... it was prolly damaged during re-installing it

Been 4 months trying to buy a 1301 tactical but nobody has them. Wish Beretta could get more out the door.
So I've owned two already... ive noticed they're different... the first, has a threaded barrel for a choke... this new one does not... little disturbing but not something I used/use. Just nice to have the options
@@chef.papa.6tango523 Gen 1-2 had NO threaded barrel. Gen 2.5 (current gen) has threaded barrel and comes with chokes.
