Recently took ownership of a 2024 SQ8 and the dealer concurred with a sizeable paint anomaly below the clear coat that we discovered near the front passenger handle. Plain as day to us all so I'm not sure how it was cleared at this level (10:45 in the video). Needless to say, the dealer 'contacted' Audi but we never heard back as to what they were prepared to do for us on a $141K vehicle (Canadian $). I swear, no one gives a crap about anything anymore (referring to the dealer). This video is fine I guess. I'm just venting.
And of course, we can see only "chaisis" production but not the other parts, most vital. For you, saying that nobody works there, that's wrong, everything later is done mostly by humans. All the electronics / engine / interior integration stuff are done by humans...
The 4’s and 5’s merged together to become one car and the 6’s and 7’s merge together to become one car.. with the R8 and TTRS being discontinued.. they are getting ready for EV WORLD, trust me.
So the car cannot be ordered and configured yet and they are producing various configurations that people might not want? With Audi you basically need to add everything in the configurator...
The pictures are probably a bit old, the cars that were built here are either for the dealers as exhibits or for the press events to which hundreds of reporters are sometimes invited, who then all get their own test car.
Literally not how anything at all works. The *VAST* majority of buyers choose one that's on the lot, preconfigured by people at each respective dealer who know what buyers want. Enthusiasts who handpick and wait months for their specific car are the tiny, noisy minority of buyers.

Tesla changed car manufacturing forever. The process surely resulted in fewer jobs for humans but lower manufacturing costs for car makers in the long run.
Tesla has nothing to do with the automation depicted in this footage, Kuka robots are German developed and German car manufacturers have been using automation like this for decades now, long before Tesla existed. Tesla has developed some of its own new manufacturing processes, but generally the fit, finish and quality of assembly of Tesla ranks poorly, especially compared to the finish of Audi, which is among the best in the world.
There is no "new Audi emblem". It's black because they ordered the Black Optics package, hence the black grille surrounds instead of the silver ones. It's an optional package, if it bothers you so much.
Hats off to the drone pilot capturing this with the chassis moving along the line and all the automation going on. Amazing work.
Hats off to cameramen back in the 80s doing this in Spielberg movies without a friggin quadrocopter using just a crane
