All these people thanking Zerodha realize that Zerodha didn't bring the revolution. Zerodha is a broker. The exchange itself got digitzed. Which enabled brokers to transact digitally. And subsequently brokers like Share Khan, Ventura, Zerodha provided self service online interfaces to their clients.
It's clear these are robinhood traders who have got a recent exposure to trading and investing lol, digital trading is on since the 90s and regular since the 2000s, long before Zerodha.

My dad got allotment of tata timken in 1991 for rs. 10 per share today that single share is worth around 1200 to 1400. Same thing with lupin labs, supreme industries, Ril and many more. At the same time he also invested in many companies which later got delisted😂.

A documentary is meant to 'document' the time it was shot during. This one perfectly captures what it was like to trade in Bombay before it all became computerized.
Exchange authorized broker representative only allowed to enter in to the trading hall. All main brokers collect the orders in the morning from their sub brokers at each cities through fax and phone calls. After receiving the orders, the broker representative take the order book and go to BSE exchange hall at the stipulated time in the morning. Inside hall every broker representatives BUY and SELL their orders like auction method. One order is agreed between two representatives, they will sign on the exchange forms with prices and submitted to the exchange office. After exchange time finished, they will return to their respective head offices and confirm the executed orders to their sub brokers in the evening. Then aub brokers will inform to their client through contact note. On next day only we can see the day's Open, Low, High, Close price on the daily magazine like The Hindu, Business Line, etc..
