      @@ddsrecording True, and I was not aware of that (as I am in fact not really interested in channel strips ...) but as stated in its description: "To complete their new console offering, Lindell Audio has licensed the patent-pending Tolerance Modeling Technology (TMT) from Brainworx". So, to my understanding, you can expect plugins from LA to have TMT as well, but (so far?) not from other brands which are distributed by PA. Anyhow, this should be answered by PA itself..

    I was lucky enough to use the hardware for 2 years so i purchased this. For an hour i liked it, then i really don't like it at all. The compression is zero like the hardware, and actually to the point it does really bad phase stuff, and gets really dirty which the original never did. I have never trusted emulations. Thats why you'll never find an indepth video anywhere of modelling, because they don't do it.

    Instantly I put it on a track I noticed the increase of gain while you're saying that it stays the same lol... The whole plugin game is totally ridiculous, those new plugins mostly don't sound any better than any other, you are tricked to believe it by shoving a different "vintage" graphics UI...

    • @greenenoiseaudio
      @greenenoiseaudio 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The extra harmonic content can give the impression of volume increases at times. Auto-gain is never perfect but there is still about a 0.5db increase which isn't an insignificant amount. Better than the 33db you can feed in though. With it soft clipping the signal I would expect the peak value to be lower. There are transient jumps in volume on the meter and using a spectrum analyser you can see a lot of information spike up, mostly sub stuff, that happens when using analogue gear. No idea why we have to have that present in a plug in though.
      Most disappointingly, yet again there is no oversampling available. I could be wrong but from a quick test there appears to be aliasing throughout the entire gain range. Not a deal breaker as it sounds good but I don't understand PA's reluctance to add over-sampling to all their new plugins.

    • @Strepite
      @Strepite 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@greenenoiseaudio Loads of people do not gain match tracks when they do processing because if they did, they would realise the change is very insignificant. That's why most of the companies are "cheating"... You can do most things with your DAW stock eq / compressor / saturator. That's why I'm saying the whole plugin game is just pure business trying to sell shit to customers...It's an endless cycle of pushing same all things branded in a new way to make it "omg groundbreaking, newest" bullcrap...

    • @greenenoiseaudio
      @greenenoiseaudio 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Strepite Yeah I got that, I just don't know how true any of it is really. Gain staging is something that is preached from day 1 to engineers. Companies do cheat by the plugin making things louder but I always create a new default setting to account for this. As for doing most things, the basics, yeah it's possible but it's just harder and takes longer. Logic stock Eq vs Pro-Q3, it's not even close. Their stock emulations like pultec, neve and api are okay but nothing even compared to Waves versions. Likewise with all their comps and especially with saturators. Show me a stock plug that can do what Saturn does, with really good oversampling as well. This is before even mentioning multi-bands, limiters (never heard a stock one I like) and things like Soothe. If you can get the same results as quickly using stock plugs then more power to you but it's just a time suck when a good 3rd party plug can get you there quicker and on to the next mix.

      @johannsoncrusoe5589 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Strepite I tried a lot of plugins and PA just gets the job done very close to the real thing as far as I can say. Sure you just need an EQ, a Comp and basic stuff that you know inside out and that you can work with and get a great result. But I am really impressed by the PA plugins and sims and whatnots. To me PA got me covered in a big way. I do not use most of my waves or slate Plugins anymore since I got the megabundle, because to me they all sound better and the whole implications just work. Waves just ruined it to me, because of their bugs when using there registration policy. I had days where I was not not able to finish a mix, because of their update and installer crap. Never had any problems with PA plugins or instalations or anything. They just work and sound great. Just my experience.
