Nobody played better Ryder Cup for Europe than Faldo. Garcia may have passed him on points, but he can’t hold a candle to Faldo. He and Ballesteros were the biggest thorn in the US side. Those matches from the 80’s and 90’s are still the best.
As years go by I admire and respect his game and his achievements more and more. He was so brilliant he deserved even more majors - especially the US Open which was absolutely perfect for his game.
This game (in the first part of this clip) saw the most unbelievable 'ham-and-egging' from John Cook & Chip Beck. On their own balls they were both well over par, but always managed to have one ball make a par when needed. Meanwhile Faldo & Montgomerie were shaving the cup with birdie putts on every hole. It was incredible that Cook & Beck won, but a great example of what can happen in matchplay.

He asked Hogan once, “How do you win the (US) Open?” to which Hogan replied, “Shoot the lowest score.” lol 🤷♂️
Nick had the most solid and consistent golf swing on tour for many years.
Keeps his hands so low through the strike beautiful stuff
That sweeeeet swing brought six majors. Congrats Sir Nick Faldo.
29 years on. Still gets me buzzing like it was yesterday..
The sound of him striking his irons is unreal
Nick faldo, the little man on our Pringle of Scotland jumpers
2:38 the way it rolled around the cup was just the icing on the cake!

Best swing of all time
It's perfect. It's beyond perfect.
Watching Sir Nick Faldo, is to see how Golf should be played.
6 Majors in an incredibly hard-fought era.
If you could combine Faldo and Couples you’d have utter perfection.
Practiced as much as anyone. No accident that he was so good. He worked at it.
That tempo of his, makes the game look easy
Best of British.
Epic club twirl at 3:14
God damn those shots sound amazing
Yeah so satisfying to hear... especially those wood head drivers ... might need a shower.
Love the Belfry
Made it look so easy
Making it look easy to swing a golf club
honestly looks like he's not even swinging hard at it. Every swing looks like a practice swing lol.
