@@crunchytheclown9694in the 1960s most large mills had them. They were called Gang saws. I used to repair and sharpen those kind of saws. Only the Gang saw I worked on was twice as large. The size of a dinosaur. I learned to hammer those blades before I was trained on bandsaws. Loved that kind of work. Miss it to this day.

I have worked at a lumber mill for 10 years. The mill I work at cuts logs into boards to make wooden pallets. I have done most every job at the mill. I am currently a debarker operator. I debark all of the logs and run them through a metal detector before they go into the mill to be cut into boards. Once the logs go into the mill they go through what is called a Scragg saw which cuts the core of the log into 3.5", the core is called a Cant. The Cants then get cut to 48" before they go through a Gang saw which cuts them into whatever thickness you need. 1 1/8 and 5/4 = 1 1/4 boards which go to an automatic stacker. Then they get banned and hauled away. The slabs that come from the Cants get cut to 40" or whatever size you need. Then they go through what is called a 5 head, which is 5 band saws back to back. They are offset so each saw cut them into 1/2 boards. Those boards are called Deck boards. They drop down to be sorted out and stacked. Once the unit is full it gets picked up and banned, then hauled away. I hope this helps you better understand how mills operate.
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
I have never seen a sawmill that didn’t debark their logs before sawing.
Or an incredble reciprocating gang saw

Que interesante maquina, que bonito su su proceso, saludos
Nice
incredible machinery
Wow all that automation and 2 people still have to insert those separator sticks.
They actually have stick machines for that. But you still have to have 1 guy feeding the stick machine!
Thank goodness for that. At least those two people (or more because of shift work) have jobs, inspite of the automation.

An explanation of what is happening would be great.
If you are a mill worker you would understand. Most mills work close to the same, with little differences.
