Sometimes Jor-el sent his son to earth to help it but most he sent him there because it was the best option. The whole Superman thing is all on Clark.
      This is the first where Clark thinks he's an invader. The first wave of the Kryptonian empire war machine.

    A.I. or not, imagine the emotions Jor-El felt when Clark said "family". Grief that he wasn't a part of his son's life, but maybe relief that he's accepted on Earth also.
    What I think happened was Jor-El wanted to peacefully emigrate Kryptonians to a new planet, but Zod wanted to conquer. They fought, and that's how Jor got the eyepatch. Brainiac was a planetwide operating system that gained sentience and sided with Zod.

    So I just saw part of an interview with Josephine Campbell (the co-producer of this show) where she explains how she created Kryptonese by mixing Esperanto with bits and pieces of other languages. It made me realize how rarely we've heard Kryptonian characters speaking their native tongue in previous adaptations (though, as Campbell acknowledged, we have seen the written language many times in the comics). I do hope that in season 2 we see Clark start to learn it (possibly from Brainiac).

      When I first heard Kryptonese in this series, it sounded like a mix of Latin, Greek and some other European languages thrown in…so yeah, having based it on Esperanto actually makes sense to me now.
      When you’re paying attention, Kal-El‘s/Supes‘ father says something like “rapide“ when the subtitles display the word “quickly“.

    • @davebrown2056
      @davebrown2056 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      @@NorthSea_1981 According to Campbell, that was sort of the idea--the viewer would hear a few words they recognized, and then just as they thought they were beginning to understand, they'd hear a word that was strange to them, which is exactly what Clark is experiencing as he struggles to learn more about his past. Plus, it results in Jor-El sounding like he's speaking a real language and not just a bunch of gibberish.

    Jor-El in this series is voiced by Jason Marnocha, who I actually used to follow on TH-cam under his username "Lord Jazor." Back in the late 2000's, he did some AMAZING voice impressions, most notably his impression of Mark Hamill's Joker. He's long since abandoned his TH-cam channel and his original videos no longer exist on there (Though some of his fan dub collabs on other channels still exist). I'm assuming he deleted his videos to pursue his acting career. Nevertheless, I'm glad to hear "Jazor's" voice again and to know he's voice-acting in bigger and better things. :)

Sure i know his hole father and son dinamic is the hole reason why sups become good but im open to a diferent take if at least don't ignore the basics to the storytelling, is not like in homecoming where they completly ignore uncle ben and pretend like "well everybody knows it so why bother so therefor is NEW" no! new is when you take and already known idea and you give him a new turn, homecoming literally ignore that and did nothing for two movies until no way home, this at least give us the same idea but with a legit twist to make it flesh

    There’s only two scenarios now where he can hopefully find out next season:
    1. Fortress of Solitude-Flamebird/Daily Planet learn about a krypotonian ship in the arctic and send the main trio for the story. That ship would have a translator and Clark will finally get answers

      Eh, Jor-El in the Smallville series brought Clark not listening to him on himself by being a total bastard to him. He was so cruel to Clark in that series. He burned the symbol into Clark's chest quite painfully to control him, literally mind-controlled Clark on one occasion, threatened him, abducted people, and even condemned Clark for trying to kill that Lex clone despite wanting Clark to kill the real one, making him a hypocrite, too. It's little wonder that Clark thought Kor-El had made Martha sick in the episode where Brainiac first reveals himself. I'd have believed it, too.

      Clark in this series literally couldn't understand what Jor-El was saying.

    Just when you think they can't make a more pathetic version of the Superman story, they manage to dredge something out of the cesspool of their little minds.

    Worst Jor-El design, I don't want to be thinking about Odin when I see Jor-El.

    Stop making him look like Odin and ripping off invincible while you're at it
