The school's decision could have waited until the baby grows up. Why couldn't they understand? Ensuring women have a supportive workplace for career growth and a secure space for both new moms and their babies is crucial. I'm genuinely sad that, despite this being common sense, the school's lack of sensitisation and failure to view it through an equity lens resulted in losing a teacher who is not only loyal but also passionate about her job. Please know that If any woman were in your shoes, they would have made the same decision as you did.
Dear Dherab, I have left my high paying job to stay home & care for my kids. I did that because my kids, my family needed me. Now amid all the hardships I love seeing my kids grow right in-front of my eyes. They are the greatest joy, greatest accomplishment. You don’t need permission & agreement from anyone, because deep down you know you made the right decision. You are only 31… many years left to pursue your career. This shows our school admin in corrupt and un civilized. How can they send teacher to place there is no day care and kG. Jesus Christ who took this decision and also why they didn’t look into her request for transfer to other place. I recently became a mother to my second child and had to quit my job as I wasnt comfortable keeping my baby at a day care . You will never get this time back as you know how quickly time flies . 100% supporting your decision, especially with the situation that you mentioned. 5 years ago, I left my very job for the sake of my firstborn. And this year once again I am home just to be with our second child. Our kids are our priority when it comes to make choice. No right person will shame you for taking this decision. And with your dedication towards music and work, you will surely get your next job soon. For now just spent beautiful with your son. Not backbiting our Tibetan system but it would be good to have school facilities like daycare or crèche for teachers who needs help. This way we don’t have to lose good teachers like Woeser.

If your husband is near around you, then that’s different case. But you are by yourself for your son when your husband is serving in different field. On behalf of group of Tibetan families in USA: This is very sad. The real loss here is Tibetan children, who lost a dedicated, hardworking and experienced teacher. The responsibility falls on the school administration for not showing any sense of concern and worse is depriving Tibetan children’s of a good experienced teacher. It’s disappointing to see such thing still happening in schools in India.

CTA recently organized women empowerment conference! Now Where is Bumey Nutop or Women empowerment? Any help for Tibetan population increase? Nowadays the Young talented Tibetan youth are losing their hope and belief to CTA because of their egoistic and dictatorship. This kind of action is inhumane for newly born babies 😭 mother.

My younger sister delivered their first child without husband just because they did not gave him annual leave. She travelled from Himachal Pradesh to central India just for delivery babe as we don’t have anyone with her in north India. It is in November month - sweater business season where many Tibetan people whole year livelihood is depend on winter business. Such a pethetic situation it is. Thankfully my amala and achala was there for her. My question is Will they take the same decision if it is their own child or relatives ? Answer is BIG NO. It not just committee decision. This committee is just bull-shift. Sorry my language. I am Tibetan, a proud to be Tibetan and where I go - I explain everyone how our Tibetan older generation struggles. I don’t live and work in Tibetan society. We Tibetan are here - exceptionally special refugees with good living conditions - ONLY Because of His holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s blessing. But Tibetan policy and politics within transfer decision is absolutely outrageous and unfair. I hate Tibetan system - in terms of school, men-tse-khang, gov in exile. Unfair and discriminations. How much you work hard - No consideration / recognition. There is no consideration about child and family. The administration is going downhill - because they don’t consider employees side of difficulties. They transferred many many places and no consideration about child as well. They loose good people one by one and the administration/ organisations never grow better. We Tibetan serve the community in many different ways. I am so lucky not being in Tibetan administration and feel soo soo lucky not being able to get admission in men-tse-khang in the year 2006. We understand what you feel - leaving the work you love is not the easy decision. But to everyone I like to say that family should always come first. If anything happens, only family will be there for you. Saddest part is in India, job opportunities is very limited and especially when you were working in Tibetan community like your job or men-tse-khang, you loose your livelihood.. Before transferring anyone , their first preference is their and they send are sending u at place where there is no childcare. And even the head knows that u are single mother and baby is just newly born, how can they do like that. Tibetan gov was mess from beginning and always it is. Let’s see who will replace you. This shows our school admin in corrupt and un civilized. How can they send teacher to place there is no day care and kG. Jesus Christ who took this decision and also why they didn’t look into her request for transfer to other place. I am totally against this and there must be investigations on this and PT must answer in next parliament.

I recently became a mother to my second child and had to quit my job as I wasnt comfortable keeping my baby at a day care . You will never get this time back as you know how quickly time flies . If your husband is near around you, then that’s different case. But you are by yourself for your son when your husband is serving in different field. On behalf of group of Tibetan families in USA: This is very sad. The real loss here is Tibetan children, who lost a dedicated, hardworking and experienced teacher. The responsibility falls on the school administration for not showing any sense of concern and worse is depriving Tibetan children’s of a good experienced teacher. It’s disappointing to see such thing still happening in schools in India.

I’m so sorry to hear that the school director (unanimously??) decided to transfer you at this stage where you need the most support from all sides! But they don’t care! Just sent you a transfer decision?? This is ridiculous from every Angle!! We supported you 😢even before we watched your vlog! You have totally made the correct decision to resign! I am not the follower of your TH-cam - it just came across and I watched and you are not alone going through this. Thank you for speaking up here. I completely understand your situation. My younger sister delivered their first child without husband just because they did not gave him annual leave. She travelled from Himachal Pradesh to central India just for delivery babe as we don’t have anyone with her in north India. It is in November month - sweater business season where many Tibetan people whole year livelihood is depend on winter business. Such a pethetic situation it is.
Thankfully my amala and achala was there for her.
My question is Will they take the same decision if it is their own child or relatives ? Answer is BIG NO.

We Tibetan are here - exceptionally special refugees with good living conditions - ONLY Because of His holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s blessing.
But Tibetan policy and politics within transfer decision is absolutely outrageous and unfair.
I hate Tibetan system - in terms of school, men-tse-khang, gov in exile.
Unfair and discriminations. How much you work hard - No consideration / recognition.
There is no consideration about child and family. The administration is going downhill - because they don’t consider employees side of difficulties.
They transferred many many places and no consideration about child as well.
They loose good people one by one and the administration/ organisations never grow better.
We Tibetan serve the community in many different ways. I am so lucky not being in Tibetan administration and feel soo soo lucky not being able to get admission in men-tse-khang in the year 2006.
We understand what you feel - leaving the work you love is not the easy decision. But to everyone I like to say that family should always come first. If anything happens, only family will be there for you.
Saddest part is in India, job opportunities is very limited and especially when you were working in Tibetan community like your job or men-tse-khang, you loose your livelihood..

Before transferring anyone , their first preference is their and they send are sending u at place where there is no childcare. And even the head knows that u are single mother and baby is just newly born, how can they do like that. Tibetan gov was mess from beginning and always it is. Let’s see who will replace you. No worries u took best decision for yourself, you have talent and you are hardworking , u will welcome at anywhere. I recommend you to apply at mussoorie Tibetan homes school, they have very good childcare .

I don’t know how well you take this, but how about establishing a private performing art institute or at least conducting weekly or monthly gorshey classes where you could easily make sufficient income to take good care of yourself and your family. Too bad there is no solution. I wish tibetan central administration have taken in consideration about teachers who have kids. Often it is implied that staffs need to do whatever they are put on task but it’s 2023, CTA need teachers like you,they need to make sure everyone is taken take of. I feel you about not trusting another person with your child as I go through the same thing because of which I am taking a break from my work as my daughter is my top priority right now.
