Well they’re made of bronze Im pretty sure and after 1984 to today as Christopher said they’re made of copper plated steel. In 1981-83 though they made bronze two pences and have the queen’s second portrait and they’re nice to come by now and again I’m not sure if they’re a lot of value to them though
Looks like the coin with the bobbles on it has very small puncture marks were the bobbles are.This has allowed water to get in & cause rust on the steel underneath it-so post mint damage I reckon.
I think it is the 1977 2p that you need to find, that is the rarest one. Equal to your Kew Gardens really. I have one somewhere in my cupboard, but very hard to find indeed.
