Thank you for giving me some positive reassurance about this issue 🙏 I am 5-6 weeks pregnant and was just told I am RH negative and started to worry. Thank you! 🙏
I’m currently 24wk +4 days with my 3rd baby and I’m so thankful all and me included have been rhesus negative A. Hopefully for your second pregnancy, all goes well with this topic. ❤
Thank you so much for the positive explination of the anti d injections, I've just found out I'm in the exact same situation, I'm 19 weeks and was looking for someone's experience to put my mind at rest. 🙂 xx
Thank you for this video! I just found out I’m o- and was so worried about this as my partner doesn’t know his blood type but you have put my mind at ease☺️💗
This was so helpful. I had bleeding and I told my midwife she vaguely mentioned rhesus +- at my 22 week appointment took my bloods and said she would get back to me. I'm 24 weeks and never heard back so I'll ask at my next appointment. X
LisaVita yeah they were vague about it with me too. Definitely ask about it, but I know blood results are taking a while at my hospital too so I wouldn’t worry too much. Xxxx
I am Rh Negative.. I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant. I was sicker than a dog. Lost at least 5-10 pounds couldn’t hold anything down. Not even water.. doctors told me this is normal for the negative blood? Anybody else have this experience.. now I’m scared to actually have a baby. I don’t know if my body is capable
I am from Yorkshire and this is such a different process up here! They don’t test to see what blood type the baby is. I am at the hospital tomorrow having my anti-D!
I’m really enjoying your pregnancy videos! I’m 15+4 today so it’s helpful to hear what I have to look forward to... like little surprises when coughing!! 😅☺️
Sometimes the shot doesn't help and a woman becomes 'sensitized', meaning the immune system produces antibodies against rh+ blood. At that point the Rhogam shot can't help anymore. You just get more tests during your pregnancy.
In the US it's called a Rhogam shot. You should get one at 28 weeks and after delivery. If u have a miscarriage u should also get one after that incase of future pregnancy. Like she said usually it's not about issue with current pregnancy if you have had a shot before or 1st pregnancy because it takes a long time for your body to build up antibodies against the pregnancy and that's only if yours and the babies blood cross and only if your baby is RH possitve while u are negative. If you and the father have negative blood then baby will also be negative. I've had 5 full term pregnancies with 6 children and 2 losses. So I've had 12 rhogam shots. Most recent was 2 weeks ago from miscarriage. 1st time they ever put it in my arm. All other times was upper buttock.
The doctor told me take anti d injection my first pregnancy 23 weeks 4 days an i have take it this week because my blood is negative and my husband is positive isn't safe to take it
I had a miscarriage due to o- blood type. Could I still get pregnant? If I did get pregnant again would I be able to carry full term and deliver a healthy baby ? Would I have to have a shot to keep my body from not fighting off the baby?
Im rh B negative and when i was pregnant i got these shots also. My baby is B positive. Now shes 3 years old :) when i was pregnant i was worrying also because first 5 months i was bleeding almost every day. It was like i had periods every day :(
@@madalyn2195 I have 5 kids an in rh negative I bleed with my oldest girl who’s 25 now they scanned me and baby was fine and I bleed again then again then went to the hospital were they took my blood and said it’s was because I need the injection as they only found out then what my blood group was rh negative I was only 17 and I mind be shit scared but when I got that injection I never bleed again and I think if I mind back 25 years I think I had tiny cramps! If they get worse the bleeding or cramps go to ur hosp and get checked out huni x
@@leannejohnston8278 hi, just wondering if you had to get the injection every month. I’m 7 weeks pregnant and I bled a little, the doctor said I will probably need it every month if I continue to bleed. 🤔
I had to have the anti D also! I was dreading it!! But I had it in my arm and it didn’t hurt at all :) just thought I’d say that just incase someone else has to have it in their arm and are a bit worried. Just feels weird, like being injected with syrup 😂
Love your vids! I’m 26 weeks tomorrow so not too far behind you with a little boy also 💙 are you nervous? I’m soooo anxious about labour at the minute xx
Lucy Rose ah thank you lovely! Congrats on your pregnancy too!! I have a fairly positive attitude towards birth now I think, thanks to my hypnobirthing course!! Xxx
HomeWithShan awww thank you so much. Yes I’ve just read the positive birth book by Siobhan Miller it was fab and going to download some tracks / podcasts! Have you done an online course? xx

Hey, I’ve been watching you for a while and completely missed this video! I am rh negative to and had to have the anti d injection. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and have just posted my first video on my channel! Would love for u to check it out! Xx
I'm sorry to say you are very bad informed. A baby's blood can't never be tested while in the womb first of all and second the baby's blood can't mix with mother's blood. Just after birth you may know the baby's blood group and everything so what's the point in doing that injection until then? Not everything that it's saying it's true. You better inform what that injection contains than making 'advertise' video like this one and driving mothers to bad ways.
In my area they do test unborn baby blood type. I just got my results my baby is rhesus positive and they advised I get the injection as im Rh negative. I hade the injection in my first pregnancy but at that time they didn’t test my unborn baby blood type they just gave me the injection to be cautious as I’m Rh negative
@@kafrynlicious hey dear, when did you get that anti D shot? In Which week? And did you get another anti D shot after the baby was born? Did you get any difficulties during your pregnancy or while delivering the baby? Was it a normal delivery or C section?
@@nedaansari8477 it was 4 years ago I had that injection around 28 weeks I think. And I had one more injection after the birth. I had anormal pregnancy. But I didn’t have it for my second pregnancy
First Of all I have 5 kids and I got the anti d with everyone of my 5 pregnancy.Secondly yes the blood can mix and as they don’t know what blood type the baby is they take no risk and give u the anti d. Well my youngest is 12 and I didn’t know what any of my 5 kids blood groups were . A lot things have changed so am sure the girl wouldn’t lie and say they know they baby blood group if they didn’t . As she stated it can cause serious problems to mother and baby if the mother has negative and baby positive they will always be given that anti d injection. So until u know about this u shouldn’t be puttin a load of rubbish up! Like u actually said what the point in giving the injection, well it’s been given for many many years as my oldest is 25 and I got it then. I don’t think she is a doctor so how would she know what’s in the injection for I got it with 5 kids and I don’t even know what’s in the injection . So get ur facts right before commenting rudely 👍
