I like that you’re into all types of art. Manga is not really my thing, but I believe there is something to be learned from almost all art, as you show in this interesting video.
Manga is becoming more and more explosively popular in the west, i hope we can also catch up in the level of artistry and storytelling that manga has set and where American comic books have failed.
I started reading Secret Wars (from 1984) a while ago an there's a part in it where Galactus is building a spaceship, and all the heroes keep explaining how HUGE it is and that it's dwarfing every other spaceship or city in comparison. The thing is, you would never actually be able to SEE how huge the spaceship is without the characters explaining it. In fact, it doesn't look very huge at all. It's actually only after reading Secret Wars I've come to realize just how insanely good Miura is at drawing scale (among other things of course), it's just crazy. You can actually just look at the page and see how things are supposed to be in terms of size. It's amazing!
Awesome 👍 Which is better for beginner? Watercolor vs poster vs acrylic paint? Which will be better for realistic drawing also? How much sketching skills required for painting? Do we need to outline with pencil 1st?
I like berserk, but think yukito kishiro changed everything with battle angel Alita .the poses , the dynamics in the battle scenes are a totally different level, and when it came out 30 years ago it was ground breaking and a totally different level. Not even Spiderman from back then was like that. While I like berserk I'm not sure it has aged so well
