I love how you give us your perspective into crafting things. It helps me a lot as an aspiring artist to keep going into crafting my own silly ideas
Good luck on your journey! Silly ideas are what make life worth living
Your art has such a consistent uneasiness/horror to it. Also, such a good attention-grabbing thumbnail. Keep up the great work man!
I just love watching your progress videos and drawing along to learn the process.
I love stories set in a dying world. The inevitability of fate vs. the human instinct to survive no matter what. Your story and worldbuilding sound amazing. I'll definitely give your graphic novel a look. Keep up the good work!
I'm not normally one for fantasy but the absolutely awesome artwork and incredibly unique premise have me interested. I would love to read this. 💯
Hopefully I'll have it all released by October! Thanks for checking it out
I wish I knew how to draw lol. I love worldbuilding and I'm in the process of detailing my fantasy world with noble houses and strange locations, and I'm sure that having the ability to visualize them in a more concrete way on a drawing is very rewarding. Great content bro
You can do it! When I was younger I used to write way more than I would draw. I had the same problem as you. Then I got into graphic novels and I realized I needed to spend more time drawing than writing to get to where I wanted to be. It’s taken a long time of working on both in tandem, but I think if you’re dedicated you can do both. It just takes time
I love the worldbuilding along with the artwork here. This is such an awesome dark fantasy concept. Almost feels like something fromsoft would come up with.
"Nitheful" is a nice revival of an Old English word 😎
It's interesting seeing how your story flows from these images.
This....is....just...wow......I have been holding back my own weird ideas for all my life.....I thought it wasn't done....but now you???? A well??? Damn IT!!!!!
Oh well
The best genre is Medieval fantasy, the best sub genre is dark fantasy. I’ve always loved the Medieval times as a kid who hasn’t? I’m intrigued to see where this story goes I’m definitely keeping an eye on this, your art style is already appealing and you’ve started the lore off in an interesting way. Love the concept of days and nights lasting for months so much plot events and story beats can come from that. And you can make so so many different scenarios. Keep up the amazing work.
I think it’s one of the best genres! I really want to focus on the psychological horror aspect since I don’t see it too much. It’s definitely gotten more popular to incorporate horror with fantasy so maybe I can step it up! Either way thanks for following along and checking it out 🙇♂️
man this comic sounds so badass! i would love to read it when it is ready.
It’s on my Instagram currently! If you have it there are a few chapters up on @nithefulkingdom
Wow Me encanta tu trabajo, soy muy afortunado de encontrar tu canal, la tematica del comic es muy interesante, sigue asi ❤
OK. Im using this world for my next DnD campaign.
Let me know how it goes
@@pitchcanker Will do. We already implemeted a magic system from Monstergarden. If that says anything to you. I will modify it to fit into this world and might even created a rulebook. We will see how far I will go, procrastination is a hell of a drug : /
This is so awesome!! I’m looking forward to binging it this weekend!!
Thanks dude I hope you enjoy it!
omg i just found your channel, it's just perfect, makes me want to read what you write and draw immediatly
Absolutely in love with this project. Thanks so much for sharing this :)
This is all in all a pretty interesting concept and i just love your special artstyle, that is prevalent in all your art and gives this comic some very scary and uneasy vibes. I will definitely follow this comic and quite frankly, i also would be even interested to buy a physical book someday. But for now i wish you the best in your work and also especially in your health.
Thank you I really appreciate it! I'm hoping for the whole comic to be generally unsettling, but I do want to weave other themes in. I think it being horror at the forefront, and then incorporating romance, fantasy, action, and comedy will be a great way to really flesh out the mood so it's not a one trick pony. Hopefully I'll be doing preorders in September, but I'll definitely be posting updates about it on the channel at some point! Definitely another lore video soon at least.
I am so excited when the world itself is shaped differently from the usual norm.
Ok I already liked your art but youve sold me on this concept! I cant wait for it to come out.
I hope you enjoy it! Released a few more pages yesterday
Always loved your art. Please keep making things! Very cool.
Thanks dude, I definitely will!
This sounds like a really cool story I can’t wait to read it 😄
I feel better about trusting the process now thank you
Stay excited! Part of the process is uncertainty, but you just have to keep moving forward and growing
I like your videos, man
Same. And your art ❤
Idk if you'll believe this is, but this is inspirational, thank you
You've got this! I hope you make something cool
Incredible imagination you have, would love to pre order your book when it’s finished
Thank you! I’m hoping to have physical copies once I wrap up the first book 📕
Take your time, book printing can be a bit of a hassle to get through, wouldn’t want your efforts to be misprinted lol
Looks really good, don't give up :)
Immediately earned my subscription.
Thank you! I'll be working hard to keep it
Come a long way since I first saw you on instagram, Keep at it!!!!
Thanks for following the journey!! Hopefully we can push it a little further
This is like someone designed a strain of crack specifically for me 😩😩❤️❤️❤️
A Nitheful TTRPG sounds like it would be awesome
It was a potential thought after the comic releases! I had a concept drawn out that's very bare bones but could be fun
I absolutely adore your art, what do you use for the comics? I'm wondering to know if its easier to draw on it then what I'm using right now.
Honestly it is really hard to make a horror universe (I know from experience), thus it is rarer to see, and Imma tell you one thing, good luck
Cool!
This sounds incredible!
Are you posting it online or will it also go to publish?
Don't know if I've ever seen your channel before but the artwork is an instant like, very simplistic and bold colors really give it a very unique vibe that I think matches perfectly with and grim dark horror world you feel like creating. Also interesting worldbuilding ya got going on with this project, wonder how long it took to flesh your ideas out? I've dabbled in both writing and drawing but have a hard time staying committed to projects so I'm a bit... Ok, very far behind, especially on my digital art skills but comics seem like a lot of fun. A lotta work as well, but probably worth it. I don't have Instagram though, any alternative options to see more of this project? Ya got me at horror medieval fantasy
Thank you, I really think my style being unique will help get people interested!
So as far as timeline goes, this has taken about 2 years to plan out. It's been on and off as far as putting the real work in, but it's been in the front or back of my mind pretty consistently.
I would say the story is 80% fleshed out at this point, but a lot changes as I write. I still think there's a lot of stuff I've made that I won't include, but also ideas I could flesh out more.
Take it from me, you are not far behind. Some of the greatest artists matured late, or even found their success down the line. Start now with the time you have left. We're never guaranteed tomorrow, and you can do so much in such a small amount of time if you treat your time with respect. Time slows down when you pay attention to what you're doing, you've got this!
Also the comic can be read on my website (It's a few pages behind currently). I might also post the comic on Cara, it's a pretty solid art app right now that I'm investing some time into. If you like art it's amazing for browsing really talented creators without BS.
@@pitchcanker yeah your art style is very recognizable and I can't speak for others, but I will certainly give a visual story a try just for the artstyle alone if I like it, which I do. Two years is pretty good to me, I've taken three just to flesh one character out but it's true that I'll never reach the finish line if I never start in the first place, thank you for the encouragement, you seem like a good person. Also noted, I'll definitely have to find the time to go binge what if the comic is already out, thanks for having multiple options to find it on, I'm sure that'll also help your reach and I hope it's a successful endeavor, writing and drawing are hard jobs, combining them takes some true skill so you deserve the recognition for your work
Love the video! Love the art! Love it all
Question / hypothetical: if the sun and the moon are gods because their celestial bodies. What’s preventing the earth, and other celestial bodies like Jupiter and mercury from also being dieties.
Dude thank you! So the way I'm going about it is that these deities aren't actually the true sun and moon. They're interloper Gods feeding off of the planet and blocking out the actual planets. They're akin to parasites that have latched on to the planet. It's like a form of aggressive mimicry. Ideally I'd like them both to be banished by the end of the story, revealing the true sun and moon. I do like the idea of other cursed celestial bodies though! I'm still working on the 3rd book so I'm open to ideas.
@@pitchcanker Thats awesome! What inspired you to come up with this?
Awesome!
Can't wait for more! ❤️🖤🤍
Keep it up~!
Hey, just a question, why are the champions of the sun can command and of the moon can instent kill when the sun is death and the moon is order??
Do you plan on making physical copies of the books when they’re finished? I’d purchase them for sure.
Praise the sun!
I want to make a dark isekai manga, but i dont know how to begin
Sorry if you mentioned this in the video and I missed it, but do you have any plans to release this in print at any point? I've been enjoying keeping up with the story as you've been releasing it and look forward to the rest!
I definitely want to! I think once I release the first book online I'll do a limited run of the first comic. I was thinking it would be about 150 pages (120 of the comic and then maybe 30 pages of lore and extra art).
Can i make my own comic inspired by this?
Lmao, as someone who is called Faris, seeing my name in fictional media caught me off guard. Is that character's name pronounced like Ferris (Ferris Wheel, Ferris Bueller), or is it like Far is (like rISky)? The name means knight, hero, so now I wonder if he's gonna be one.
It is actually spelled Faris! His whole story revolves around him struggling to live up to his eventual knighthood. In story he’s a coward but kind of fails upwards. I’ve never met anyone with your name, super cool!
A question: What rules govern when/how to use red, black and white in your work?
I am actually working on a video about this!
are you gonna release physical copies?
I would really like to once I finish the first book!
The weapons could be of bronze, is they have no iron. Like a mid of the bronze age and the medieval age.
I was thinking of something even softer like silver! I thought it would be really cool if the combat became really brutal because the weapons would just start chipping apart or something.
@@pitchcanker if they have* Like a mix*. I miss spelled there. Also, obsidian, like the mesoamerican weapons that used lil obcidian knifes in a blunt weapon.
Do you have any tips for making scary and (somewhat) gorey art that won’t be seen as a edgy art teen’s work???
I would say try and capture original subject matter! Don’t fall into tropes, and don’t be afraid to be creative. I think you can make anything brutal. I originally wanted to make my main body of work about funguses and herbs, but scary. The red black and white thing came later. I really believe it’s just a matter of widening your perspective on what can be scary!
What's the point? What's the point of how things are the way they are? What do they add to the story?
If you follow along with the graphic novel, there will be more context as the world is revealed
Well I read everything out on Instagram and Im interested to say the least
Thanks for checking it out! I'm looking forward to releasing the rest.
Can't Mr Gullibility live in the well?
this shit is GASS, must have taken u months to cook this up
He is Kin
Idk how much trouble it would be at the stage of development you're at to edit, but you might want to pivot away from having goblins - they're increasingly becoming reassociated with their origins in antisemitic myths and propaganda (and more awareness is being raised of the frequent antisemitic way they're portrayed im pop culture) and it might age poorly depending on what the iron eaters look like. Also, is this gonna be a physical book? It would be so cool to have a physical copy, it looks so awesome so far and I'm pumped
Hi there, I am keeping things like this in mind! I am tackling some concepts like imperialism with this book, and I hope it will give a nuanced but raw commentary on systems of oppression, from the eyes of the oppressor. I think once the rest of the graphic novel releases it will be made clear that a lot of language revolving around these characters is how people in Nitheful perceive them, not how the rest of the continent view them. Either way thanks for checking it out! I hope at some point to make some physical copies, if enough people get excited about it :)
Goblins in and off themselves will never be problematic, no matter what some people like to say. It is always how such mythical beings are used and depicted in a story (and also with what kind of subtext), that should matter in the question if something really is problematic... People should not let some extremists get the control over folkloric figures, because then this kind of people who use symbols and mythical beings in the bad way are the winners. There is also a very big and complex history behind Goblins and yes, there are also in some parts antisemitic elements, but there is much more behind Goblins and this part is by far neither the origin nor the core of the myths araound goblins.
Are you in any way related to the Canker Sisters from Ed Edd n Eddy?
That's not how you pronounce archipelago.
just looked up the pronunciation and I was not cooking with that one
