- My Dovii Cichlid has lost his mind. Everyone warned me and I even knew what I was doing. I should have known how aggressive this fish was going to be because I have been preaching it for years in other videos. The wolf Cichlid Has so much aggression when it comes to feeding and I also found that this fish also kill out of sport. I’m selling my aggressive Dovii Cichlid.

i would get rid of every other fish in that pond before i'd get rid of the wolf

Dovii cichlid is 1 of my favorite cichlid i currently have a pair in a 300 gallon pond alone there are super aggressive bt i love dem
In my opinion aggresive Central American cichlids are best kept singly, or in mated pairs. Sometimes even the mated pairs don't work out long term.

I had one that was getting aggressive and I kept him a lil more relaxed by keeping him fed LOL ...fed him first and he left the other alone

I would have trouble owning one, even though I think they are a great fish with tons of personality. I'm sure you would know best since you work with cichlids and know the Dovii well. I have a large red devils and jaguar cichlid in a six foot 180 gallon tank and they fight at times.
Been trying to get one of these in my country years now.
I have a mini dovii and he's already a killer. I had to separate him already and he's only 2 inches big.
You could move it to that 6 foot tank you got temporarily right?

Hey Chris just watch this video I know it's a little bit older I probably seen it three or four times but I have an 18in do by male living in a 180 by himself he's doing great yes he is crazy but he sure is fun to own he's absolutely beautiful I also have a dovey pair that have bread for me they are about eight in each and they live in a 75-gallon pretty comfortably then I have to read moth do Vice at about 7 in each they are in a same tank with the divider for now but I really love the dough by I think they're awesome

probably just establishing its hold on the territory. weaker fish will always take a beating at first, if theres any fish that can handle it its the midas, thicker scales than most centrals
I have a pair of dovii and could never get rid of them just saying
lol, my 3 and 4 inch growouts already killed their dithers. the 4 inch male actually ate 3 other cichlids more than half his size. And still, they are my favorite new world cichlid. It is a shocker to people who feel the need to have multiple fish in their tanks though. I mean, you basically need two tanks just for one pair since half the time the male wants to kill his girlfriend. Well at least you gave it a shot and properly rehomed him!
I have 2 dovii, male and female, they had almost 4 sets of eggs in one yr 😫 the mom hides frm the male everytime the eggs appear .
Hey Chris. Ok so my male dovi had babys with my female jag... I got 12 that lived from the bunch that I caught and put inside my 75 gallon temporarily....... I was trying to do research and find hybrid pics of dovi jags mixed..... anyway u can help me find some????? I am on your Facebook as well we've chatted a couple times b4 about some of our fish....... I can send u a video of my babys I saved they are doing great. One of the reasons i dont keep big fish, that and their colouring is boring. Id rather have a lot of smaller colourful fish than 1 big grey fish.

Pretty sure i currently have this fish the guy he sold it to tried to feed it to piranhas 🤣 it killed the biggest black piranha and they all left it alone now hes currently breeding with my female dovii and ive got my second batch of babys on the way
