Fish i just incredible we can learn so much from nature and fish behavior they should be a inspiration for us to do better and becone great role models in life .its so important to note we must do our best locally to prevent pollution in our local water ways even if its one trash at a time .i wish thier were ways for us fish keepers filter out meds from our water before heading in our drains or lawns to prevent it to end up as runoffs or in our aquifers .god bless u guys always in what u do .

How big do female dovii get? I have a female dovii in my 265 and she acts as a tank boss while only being cautious of 3 fish bigger than her. She will separate the other fish from fighting and even take on 2 fish at a time.

I live in Delaware I already have a red jaguar that I grew out to his teens he slowly growing we predict he going be a 20 plus incher he bout 6 and mild temper we don't get them around our way and if we do there. Numbers our. Never great or quality

I've been watching your videos and others for keeping Big Cilicids. I have a few red devils green terrors and jack Dempsey. But I just got a 8foot 300gal what to do what to do. 🤔🤔
How long should you keep the duvet freight with the parents mines are about two weeks now and a friend of mine said he seen one of the parents eaten them myself I have not seen it I appreciate your help you help me out last time figure it out my red tiger mota because I thought they were jaguar cichlids LOL
A quick question, how big do the juvenile doviis have to be for them to start to have their blue coloration?
Blues come out in the males at about 5-6 inches. My females have always had a yellow/ green hue to them. It must be due to the region they were collected. Check out Andy Woods he has some spectacular blue dovii including the female. I absolutely love his channel
@@ScottMclaughlinJ I was wondering because I caught a little wild Dovii down here in Costa Rica and he or she has grown to just 3 - 4 inches since I got it and it still has that green coloration, so I was wondering when the blue might kick in.
Oh yeah I watch that guy's channel a lot too, his accent make his videos even better if you ask me. 😂😂😂👌 and yeah, his blue female is absolutely gorgeous 🔥
Also, are they sexually differentiable at this young age? Cause all the pictures I've seen of them as juveniles have them with their fins rounded like females. So I don't know if mine is a female as well or if I'll have to wait to find out. 😆

Hi could you tell me&wifey why our 1year old male keep on picking at our 1year old female I due think that they are a pair of dovii thanks.

Can someone from Costa Rica, Nicaragua or Honduras tell me what lures, jigs, flies work to catch these?
Is there any secret to adding a female to a male that basically grew up alone this is my first dovii and by the looks of yours I have a male. Any help would be appreciate it.
whenever you decide to enter the female to the tank, rearrange the entire aquascape of the tank. Make sure you leave a cave she can hide in away from the male. Wait sir did you say 24 inches ? So they get way bigger then red devils and Oscar combines almost I have mine in a tank with Africans cichlids ,convicts, Oscars red devil's jack Dempsey's Texas cichlids in a rainbow shark and he's doing fine so far everyone has attitude here so..

Doviis are ugly too me. I like the Red Devil and the Texas Cichlids much better. There’s nothing like an adult green Texas Cichlid in a tank with black gravel.
We are see beauty differently - Im not a huge fan of the Texas Cichlid but to each their own right? TY for watching and leaving a comment
