Welcome back to another walleye fishing video. Today we are fishing the Mississippi River for early summer walleye. This is day 2 on the river and I had too much fun to not do it again. In this video we are trolling Reef Runner 200s very fast in shallow water. Early Summer is a time of transition and covering a ton of water with crank baits is a very effective way to fish. Thanks for watching the early summer walleye content!

Hey Tom, never apologize for bringing us a video that may seem a bit repetitive. I know you strive for high quality over quantity...but I personally find a new tip and trick or two in every video you do. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

Ever notice when Tom catches a walleye he giggles like a kid a Christmas time! I love watching it and told my brothers and they all agreed. Love watching the videos and the excitement that he feels when he gets on the walleyes.

Love it, Tom. As a guy that fishes the river almost exclusively, I never get tired of the variety in the river bite, and trolling is one of my favorite ways to do it.

Great video! I also love that bait . Hot and tots would work really well also.

Ever thought if catching something else other than walleyes all day long? Maybe a musky?

Tom come fish Lake Namekagen, supposedly one of the best walleye lakes in Wi, I got a cabin on it and have never really fished walleye so I’d love to see it on there!

Hey Tom really loving walleye now. Any plans in the future to make offshoots for musky/pike/panfish ?

There's a few places that high speed trolling works. Still love the mississippi though. Biggest I got doing just that was 5mph downstream, 9.8lbs. Salmons speed. Also.. spring fishing in the title. Not even June.

No question, you have to fish while they are biting that good!! I think I could grocery shop your freezer and eat fish for years. Always like hearing new tips, keep it up.

Hey Tom - how long will a bite like this last?

We are trying to figure that out on our lake here in North Dakota! Seems that some walleyes are still shallow 3 weeks post spawn or so but we are heading out Wednesday to try trolling cranks specifically shallow. I think once the water temps hit 70 the head a bit deeper to their summer inactive slumber.

Great video, Tom. I always learn something new. How far back were you trolling the 200 Reef Runners? Fish marking at 6-10 FOW?

Tom how do manage nit getting your fingers and hands destroyed by fishing so much? Mines get recked on a day with a multispecies. And on days where you get an insane amount of boat traffic, where do you go to fish? They're not at their usual spots, do they move off into deeper flats?
