@ Goodwood video team, check out the Louwman Museum in The Hague, The Netherlands. It is an extraordinary car museum, 10.000m2 with literally hundreds of cars. Relatively unknown but definitely one of the very best in the world.
With all due respect to the Batmobile, my kids would immediately run to the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, which I saw a couple of times in the background!
I had been to the Petersen a number of times when I lived in LA, but I hadn't been there in probably 15 years when I visited last week during a trip to So Cal. The number of cars and exhibits they now have (Porsches, Motorama cars, movie cars, Tesla, and more) is spectacular. It should be on any car person's list.
Would have been nice to get a series of videos from this place seeing as you've gone all that way. Also they've got one of those Jags from the Bond film in Beaulieu. Not so far to go for most of us.
Bigger correction: Ghia is pronounced with a hard 'g' as in geek. Too many mistakes for this to be enjoyable; and surprising that nobody at Goodwood thought to do some basic fact-checking...
Filaschi is pronounced with s hard "c" for the "chi" syllable. Amazing that with so much Italian in automotive nomenclature and terminology that so few bother to get it right. It's not snobbery, it's respect.
The Phantom 1 was found in a New York junkyard, there are quite a few pictures of it. The owner most likely active in construction due to the cement found in it when restoring it....or to add weight to customers who didn't pay😮
8:40 Truett Cathy, the man who started Chick Fil A, Own the Batman car that was used for the movie shots where the flames came out. it is at the Chick-fil-A office.
No less than eight XKRs were used for filming, all of which were formerly Jaguar Cars engineering development fleet vehicles that were converted by Jaguar’s own Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) in conjunction with Pinewood Studios’ in-house special effects team. All eight cars were painted the same green as Jaguar’s Formula 3 racing team with Dorchester grey body kits, an R-performance option interior with Recaro bucket seats, 20-inch silver Detroit-style road wheels and Brembo brakes. Half of the XKRs were standard two-wheel drive XKRs (some supercharged, some normally aspirated XK8s) with cosmetic modifications. When filming moved to Iceland for the dramatic car chase on ice, however, the remaining four XKRs were built on a completely bespoke four-wheel drive chassis: an XKR bodyshell was fitted to a shortened Ford Explorer 4x4 chassis. One such vehicle, dubbed "Special Effects Car 1 (SFX1)", was modified with a Ford Mustang 302 cu. in. V-8 engine, modified Ford Explorer front suspension unit, subtly flared rear wheel arches, unique offset Detroit 20-inch road wheels and highly modified front under-bonnet body structure.
@FYMASMD Obviously. I did not say "he was shot inside the building," he was shot leaving a party at the Petersen Museum, so on the premises outside the front doors. Odd clarification, but cool.
technically Ferrari did not began with the 125S, it started with the Auto Avio 815, of which only 2 were made and 1 survived, but the first to use the Ferrari name then yes it's the 125S
that car was sold by the shah due to the low quality of Iran’s roads. Mohammad Reza Pahlavi did not use the car much until 1959, when a man named Houshang Jalili paid 2,000 rials ($275) to own the second-hand, abandoned Bugatti. 275 Bucks!
Touring was the coach builder forgiven me if mistaken superlugerra refers to it being super light. The Barchetta was gifted to Henry Ford by Enzo it was not bought by the Ford motor company. I stopped watching after that.
Figoni and Filaschi had not only the full depth front fenders, but also the highly distinctive chrome accents. The "metal cowling" is generally referred to as a "tonneau cover." This man knows nothing about cars.
Small correction, the coachwork of the rolls royce was done at the time by Jonckheere, a Belgian company (not a Dutch one)
Increadible he said Dutch company, it says Jonkheere, Belgium just below the car
Been to the Peteresen three times over the last 20+ years, gets better each time.
Get this man a respectable shirt
I love that museum, and the guy who gave us the tour at The Vault was awesome ❤
I love the vault. Don’t go to the Petersen without that tour. I keep going because they can only cover a bit of it.
My word... I must get myself to this museum in my lifetime.

Dan Gurney was a great drive and engineer. The Gurney flap. He was a great guy. RIP Dan.
Absolutely Marvelous collection.

Thanks for bringing us along I love the tatra
Another small correction: the Bugatti 57 was bodied by Vanvooren, not Figoni & Falaschi

You should have done a review of the Mullin Automotive Museum before it closed and the collection dispersed in February 2024.
The company Jonckheere from Roeselare, Belgium indeed. Famous in its days with lots of Dutch buyer....
Bigger correction: Ghia is pronounced with a hard 'g' as in geek. Too many mistakes for this to be enjoyable; and surprising that nobody at Goodwood thought to do some basic fact-checking...
Amazing to me is how crude the first Ferrart was comparred to later models
Well done, thanks
Cadzilla build by Boyd Coddington....

🤣🤣🤣😂😂
Amazing
Correction, Toyota GTP was driven by Parnelli's son, P.J.Jones.

it's funny you say the ZZ-Top car is not black but deep purple. On my screen I see dark green reflects.
The whole time I kept thinking, "please give us a better view of that 1993 CBR 900RR in the background, please..."
The Roller was re-bodied in secret by Bruce Wayne.
Los Angeleez?
Shah of Persia, not Iran
Also something that many people don’t realize, the rapper Notorious B.I.G. was shot and killed at the Petersen Museum.
Outside. Not inside.
@FYMASMD Obviously. I did not say "he was shot inside the building," he was shot leaving a party at the Petersen Museum, so on the premises outside the front doors. Odd clarification, but cool.
@brettturnage533 that's the reason why I watched this museum ☺️

David grainger is right the Mulhouse collection is the best ( by a considerable margin imo)
Front end treatment of the Ferrari Superamerica reappears on the Ghia bodies developed in collaboration with Chrysler.
It's also Ghia with a hard "G". Criminy!
Saved the best to last that Toyota racing car lovely
Only the best if you have never been to the National museum in France which actually is the greatest car museum in the world.

Hey,you should factcheck your info.Jonckheere wasnt Dutch. Its a Belgian coachbuilder.
The frankenstude would of been better time spent on talking about then the batmobile...

6:56 Wow, is that ugly.
Only a Brit would butcher pronouncing Ghia. They struggle with Lancia as well.
Stop standing in front of the cars when presenting. We want to see the cars, not you.
Stunning
Yo brits can have royal as a monarch but in the rest of the world is a dictator. That is double standard or cynicism
The monarch is a powerless dictator.
Hated it
