He's enjoying retired life and thankfully grown up from the assholish behavior in the 90s and actually put over young stars like Edge, Orton, Cena and others..but sadly people don't want to see that and would rather dwell on the negatives of what he did...or some would rather hate on HBK because it's the "cool" thing to do. Nonetheless I'm glad he's changed his life for the better.

@giftofgab247 At overselling and only having one memorable moment passing a title on to make another star maybe. Even that he owes Bret credit for helping Austin get over first.
The whole chokeslam deal would piss me off big time if I was Shane. Taker, Kane and Big Show didn't give a fuck he used chokeslam and Vince didn't care, because they probably all understood Hurricane is just a comedy character and in that context it doesn't hurt them using the move one bit. And if they didn't care, who exactly is Shawn Michaels to have an issue with it? It just comes off like deep inside, Michaels is a bit of a bully and he likes to throw his weight around. He knows with guys like Shane Helms, he can get away with being a dick, so he is one.
The truth is, the Hurricane character was more over than Shawn was in the 2002-2006 period. He was working more frequently with top talent in small programs than Shawn was. Hurricane was working with Rock, Austin, Taker, Eddie, Benoit, Angle, Cena, even Brock.. whereas Shawn had to politic his way into programs with Austin, Taker, and Cena until he finally got the point. Of course he was going to sabotage a guy he viewed as a lesser... despite the fact that Helms is one of the highest regarded guys in the WWE locker room back then.
@@PiCheZvara Yes, let's remain objective. Shawn wasn't nearly as over after the first D-X run, and returning in 2002 after years injury. He'd been overshadowed by everyone else, and was never much more than a high midcard guy until he retired. He was then what Jon Morrison is right now. Maybe a bit better than Morrison.
Shawn is a bitch in real life though, he ain’t no bully, he’s a passive aggressive, indirect pussy that uses other people’s power against others. He’s a manipulator, not a bully. A bully is someone that will use their own power against people physically or mentally. Shawn gets others to do his dirty work, he can’t do it himself.
For those who don't know: Helms and HBK buried the hatchet when Shawn tweeted him a very good message about him being a father for the first time. That's noble of Shawn.
@Ice booy Well, Shane said, in a interview with Kayfabe Commentaries, that they patch things up when Shawn congratulated him when he had his first child.
@CMACKCHILL This ice boy character is exactly what he is. A character. If he doesn't like me repeating myself, why did he ask me if Shawn called Helms personally? If the problem has been smoothed over, why does it matter?
I believe the match that Shane is referring to with Shawn and Randy was the 6-man tag on June 2nd, 2003: th-cam.com/video/jrrlaMCRegQ/w-d-xo.html It looks Shawn was upset that Hurricane was not selling much for Randy and Hunter. Instead, Shawn tagged in and took the majority of the heat from the heels, even though Shawn and Kevin were far bigger stars than Hurricane at the time. Either that or it's the moment when Shane is standing there with nothing to do just before Hunter hit the Pedigree for the finish. Of course, Earl Hebner screwing up the pinfall probably didn't help Shawn's mood at all.
@Bubba Sawyer My interpretation about the selling was that Hurricane took a dropkick from Randy and was supposed to take more heat from Hunter, but quickly reversed and took over the offense and tagged in Shawn. From there, Shawn let Evolution get the heat, leading to the big tag to Kevin. Maybe that was the plan, but it made no sense for Shawn to be the face taking all the heat. Hurricane was the odd man out, as the PPV was building to Hunter vs Kevin and Ric vs Shawn, with Randy costing Shawn the match and building to a feud between them. Upon second viewing, it seems the blown spot was supposed to be Randy attacking Hurricane after Ric got knocked down, but Randy looked completely out of it from the neckbreaker off the second rope. Maybe Randy had a concussion, because even the referee checked on him at 9:25. So perhaps Randy was supposed to hit the RKO to get the win, but Hunter had to improvise with the Pedigree instead. Beyond that, no idea.
@@markrobinson9394 I'd suspect that you are probably correct about Shawn being angry about taking the heat while Shane being lower on the pole than Nash and Micheals.

That "somebody blew a spot" story he's talking about. It was the main event on Raw in a tag match. And it was HIM who blew the spot. He didn't kick out when he was supposed to, and then everyone had to improvise a brawl. Everyone involved looked like an idiot, and that killed his main event push right there. He can blame it in whatever he wants.
Just watched this. Helms may have made a mistake at the end of the match, but it's clear that Orton is concussed and that's when things go to shit. Helms hit Orton with a nasty looking and solid sounding elbow that gets an audible pop before a neckbreaker. After this Orton seems to have problems moving and his eyes are darting back and forth all over the place. Classic signs of head trauma. Obviously there was a planned kick out, but someone called an audible and it shows.
I met Shawn at the height of his career in the mid 90’s and he was very nice and accommodating to everyone in the room. Bret was nice too but Shawn was more interactive with fans.

When your worst HBK story is about the time he was mean to you but then he came back and apologized right after, it sounds like you missed the truly hard version of him to work with.
Because apologizing right after nullifies it and makes it okay. Also, funny that you leave out the other examples Hurricane gave of Boy Toy burying him. You can go back to slobbering Boy Toy’s knob
I'd say that Jose Gonzales is much more disliked than Shawn Michaels. Michaels may have been a total dick, but he never stabbed another wrestler to death in a shower.
That dishonor belongs to both Chris Benoit and Jose Gonzalez. Like somebody here just said, at least HBK hasn’t killed people. He has killed careers, but not people.

@@American-Zero So did Hogan! Hulk Hogan put over other Wrestlers.. He is still seen as a politic playing backstabber..
@@kenrickkahn The difference between Hogan and HBK is HBK is settling for retired life with nothing left to prove while Hogan is still about ego and putting himself over.

@@ravensblm You bring up a good point. The commenters in this vid act like HBK was the only one who did politics for his own benefit when many before him did so..some even did worse. How come they're not crucifying them?
Jim Cornette thumbed up this video
That's why I was always a Bret kid growing up.
Bret was always a stand up guy, so is Shane Helms. Vince lied to Bret after giving him his word so, Bret knocked his ass out.
@giftofgab247 At overselling and only having one memorable moment passing a title on to make another star maybe.
Even that he owes Bret credit for helping Austin get over first.
HBK was the best there is best there was best they ever will be ....
Bret was also the better wrestler. Perhaps not as flashy but certainly consistently better matches against any and every opponent.
@@Dusty_VH Shawn was the best at giving man-love to Vince.
@@Unlitedsoul OK, let's remain objective - Hurricane was never even remotely as over as Shawn Michaels.
Well it bit him in the ass. Literally everyone uses the super kick now. The sweet chin music has lost its grandeur due to that.

@CMACKCHILL I just know that Helms said that Shawn was saying good thing about Shane being a father.
Wow tweeting someone about being a father so noble
Well now Shawn is running NXT and doing a great job, I like to think his a changed man
I believe the match that Shane is referring to with Shawn and Randy was the 6-man tag on June 2nd, 2003:
th-cam.com/video/jrrlaMCRegQ/w-d-xo.html
It looks Shawn was upset that Hurricane was not selling much for Randy and Hunter.
Yeah I think you’re right. I was trying to find the Exact moment where there was a blown spot though
I saw the match and Earl hebner fucked up horribly and the powerbomb was to clean up the mess earl made.
And For Shawn to have all the talent he had, his burying ego throws dirt all over that..

When you work with someone, that IS them in-person--in fact oftentimes you see people's full narcissism and pettiness come out in the workplace. And when they decide to fuck with your career, they affect you in a very real way, oftentimes in the long-term. If someone intentionally and maliciously screws with and undermines their coworkers on the job, they are a piece of shit, full stop.

You do know that MOST people are not supposed to kick out of the pedigree right? In fact Nash was supposed to jump in and stop the count.
I met Shawn at the height of his career in the mid 90’s and he was very nice and accommodating to everyone in the room. He even stayed an extra hour just to make sure everyone got his autograph and a picture. The guy was getting mobbed in a hot ass room by fans but he kept his cool and stayed professional. Bret was nice too but Shawn was more interactive with fans.
I met him at an autograph signing the night before he won the World title at Survivor Series 2002. I told him DX was a stroke of genius, and he did that laugh of his. Shook my hand and everything. Great memory. I was wearing that "don't hunt what you can't kill" shirt they made when he came back & a DX bandana on my head.
