    I hope you guys in the cube are working on the next video about the Fabric pricing mechanism 😊

    What if I am just a student or someone that wants to learn Fabric on my own outside of my organization's scope?? Is there any way I can have a personal e-mail to do a trial on?

    So, I've bought a fabric capacity (F2)(In Azure), and I have a Power BI Premium Per User license, I've enabled the preview for the tenant, and I've reviewed all the sub settings on the Admin Portal for Power BI and I still can't seem to see the persona switcher, am I missing something?

  • @DanielWeikert

    What happens afterwards. You don't get charged if you do nothing after the trial right?

  • @CrazySw3de

    Followed all of the instructions and still not seeing the option. Set up a 365 trial specifically to do this, set up all of the settings exactly as shown, still nothing. Really frustrating, as I can see the capacity, it looks like everything is setup correctly, but there's just no persona switcher or option to use any non-PBI settings.

      Maybe reach out to MS support? They might be able to help resolve.

      @@stinainsd I've tried, but then it just redirects to Power Platform support which apparently doesn't provide support when you're on the trial outside of just canned FAQ responses :(

    how much will it cost after 60 days?

  • @pwol751
    @pwol751 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The trial number of days just stays at 59 days. Is this the same for everyone? I assume I suppose to just keep track or it will all of a sudden expire.

    If F64 is compared to Premium P1 capacity within power BI which is available for 4995 USD but here in above chart i see the monthly charge of F64 to be 8409 , pls help me understand the diff .
    Is it only the power is same i.e. CPU and QPU ? but not the price

    since my existing workspace is now apart of this fabric capacity does that mean it will be deleted if my company decides not to buy fabric? i just dont want things that i created prior to be deleted

    @Guy in a Cube I've got a premium per user license and just enabled the fabric trial for 60d. Fabric is also enabled for the entire organization. For some reason I still can't see or use the switch on the bottom left. Really frustrating.. any suggestions?

    Hi Adam & Patrick, the size of my model is 1.8 GB (Dax studio) but I'm able to publish my report into power bi service with PRO licensing why is it? We should not be able to publish more than 1GB in Pro right?

      PBI data is compressed in the service and it's less than 1GB once you published I guess

    😮 So in conclusión Fabric is only for companies that can afford a Premium license? That’s a real shame, all this boom to know that at the end just a very limited amount of people and companies would be able to use Fabric (at least in my country).
    Why bothering taking the trial if then they will ask me to pay $5000 USD 😭😭

    • @stinainsd
      @stinainsd ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No Fabric is going to have lower SKUs that you have to pay for, but work with a Power BI Pro license. Guesstimates are about $160 USD/mo for the lowest SKU level.

      @@stinainsd I have a one-person company. I know I can have a very good "PBI lab" with a PBI premium per user license.
      What you are saying is that I'll be able to expand that to have a cheap [PBI + Fabric lab] with [PBI PPU + cheap Fabric capacity]?
      I tried searching that on the current documentation, but it is not clear yet. Basically, I don't know what are the options once the trial is over.

    • @stinainsd
      @stinainsd ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fowx. they haven’t come out with the exact pricing yet but they have lower levels of capacity for Fabric so it won’t be just for folks that were at the $5k/mo price level for Power Bi.

    Really thanks for this vids.
    My company already have P1, but we have dumb admin who never really know how PBI settings in admin portal works. So there is zero chance he will enable Fabric Preview to me.
    Now I can try this on my own POC tenant.... like always.
    I need to POC shit on my own tenant all the time and go back to the incompetence PBI admin and show him how each feature works. And I am not even a BI developer. I am more on Data Architecting and Data Engineering side but need to teach PowerBI tenant admin what he should and should not do all the f***ing time.

    I love the Power BI content, without a doubt, but this channel is feeling more and more like an advertisement channel for Microsoft products and services.

    • @stinainsd
      @stinainsd ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Fabric is a huge announcement and people want to know how to try it out - it isn't unreasonable that GIAC and other Power BI channels are posting about it.

    • @Commandet
      @Commandet ปีที่แล้ว

      If there are tools that will make the power BI platform stronger (MS products or not), then it definitely should be showcased. The more options, the better.

    • @fowx.
      @fowx. ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that feeling, but we should also try to understand the current moment, and this is a moment for announcements (and Fabric is a huge one).
      We have shallow content for now because we have just began to explore this new product. Imagine trying to have very deep PBI content when it was on preview.

    • @CrazySw3de
      @CrazySw3de ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I mean it's always been Microsoft product focused, the creators are Microsoft employees and Power BI is a Microsoft product. Going forward, Power BI is going to be one piece of the Fabric platform, so it makes sense to have content covering that, especially when there are so many features in Fabric that relate back to Power BI like direct lake, Git integration, etc.

    • @hi55us2
      @hi55us2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand them wanting to highlight a new product, but the last 6 videos have been on Fabric, which is a glorified rebranding of existing solutions with a small number of additions.
