John Holt - Police In Helicopter theme played on '64 Fender Jazz Bass + Fender Rumble 100 Combo + Ampef Opto Comp. iPhone 6S recording unfortunately, so be smart with that !
Nicely done bro, love the deep punch of reggae bass... Donstrumental aka Don Chandler is a solid reggae bass player, his live work with UB40 was outstanding. I also love playing reggae bass but on occasion have dipped into other genres of mostly 70's and 80's tunes.
If im not mistaken flabba plays with his thumb. Him and robbie Shakespeare and most iconic reggae bass players do. But this tune is groovy and you nailed it bro
Ok I understand your point of view, here's mine. I never had the intention to sound like, to be like, to look like Flabba Holt. I just wanted to try playing on a backtrack made by this cool guy named Don Chandler / Donstrumental. I really love his channel, lot of useful tips for bass lovers. I wear no dreadlocks and I have no talent but I am a huge fan of reggae bass lines and surprisingly I was able to groove this during 1 minute, 1 hot minute of my life, 1 minute I thought I was on a stage with those wonderful and talented musicians. I have enormous respect for all these guys playing reggae music, you can trust me, even I know I'm far from being perfect. Thanks for your comment btw. Cheers.
Please, all credits to Don Chandler, Donstrumental TH-cam channel, he's the guy who inspired me to play this (th-cam.com/video/fIZz8BzkaMg/w-d-xo.html). Don is a really cool guy, reggae is cool, bass is cool... What else to be happy ? ;-)

He does both from the videos I've watched. I saw Roots Radics live in the 90's and for some reason can't remember much about it.
Flabba play’s fingerstyle and thumb, the thumb gives you the deep round sound , otherwise known as the big finger, nice playing mr Toonfish ☝️☝️
