We went more in depth with the wiring harness and gave more detail on the installation of everything on the under side of the van. Chris, this video is super helpful. You're a natural on-camera and as an instructor. Thanks, I have been gaining knowledge and working up the courage to do the install myself and your video pushed me over the threshold. I started my install! yay! One thing I noticed is you said you drill a 3" hole for the duct in the back of the seat base. I drilled a 2 5/8" hole (by measurement) and the piece fit perfectly. I imagine a 3" hole would not allow much margin for the three (3) screws. FWIW

Was racking my brain trying to figure out where the group of wires in the long run go. You mentioned they are not used as only for DIGIMAX 1000. THANK YOU!! Fingers crossed I get this fired up today.

Excellent video, missed the part where you showed us EXACTLY where to put the template, we just eyeballed it and ended up with 3 extra holes. I will also add that the vent hole is no longer 3”, and you no longer need the quick connect at the fuel tank. We took your advice and trashed those connectors in favor of a simple butt splice, but we used lever nuts for that.
This video saved me! The wiring harness i have is just like this and i was racking my head trying to figure it out. Way easier than what i thought it would be. thanks for thinking outside the box and suggesting simple wire connections , those crimpy things suck a**.
Yeah, if you dont have the special crimps its a PITA.
@@FreedomVanGo Got it all together and it turned it on. Got "H1:Service" on my screen. I cut the power and turned it back on about 10 times in an hour (thinking it be the fuel needed to get primed) and got the same H1:Service every time. I am able to get the fan operating but it seems kinda weak. I feel like this is a simple programing thing or something super simple. I am just not seeing it. thanks in advance!!
I was so overwhelmed 47:12 minutes ago! Thanks so much! Hey, I didn't see you use the mounting plate that I got in my kit. Also, I didn't get quick fuel connect and the tubing that you said not to use had a sticker on it that said "attach directly to fuel tap or use 5/16 fitting". Maybe because I have a 2022? I didn't see the muffler install either but I think I have that figured out. Thank you!
This is super helpful- thanks so much for posting! For the exhaust, I noticed you didn't have a muffler and only had one silver tube. How did you run that and where did you place the end of the exhaust? Appreciate it!
The seat bolt for a 2022 Mercedes Sprinter is the E-Torx socket, size E16 for those looking
Great video, only question I have is fuse size recommendation? Does a 25 amp blade fuse work? I am fusing everything at my house battery fuse box. Do I need a fuse anywhere else? Thanks a ton!
Do the exhaust part of the install as detailed as you did the wiring. More info would be nice.

Regarding the crimping - I think the silicone round seal should get crimped to the wire, no?

Thanks Chris! Great job teaching us how to install the D2L heater. This video was well done with clear description and visuals. I'm doing my first install tomorrow. Question - Is there any need to prime the fuel line? If so, what process?
Just let the heater cycle itself. It may take a couple times but it does a good job of doing it itslef

DEI makes a great material you can get from autozone/advance auto. that's meant for it specifically.

Great information. Exceptional breakdown on the electrical. You didn't mention it but is the fuel pump able to be mounted horizontally? I though it needed a set +/- degree tilt.
It does need a set tilt. We do final adjustments before fire up on all of that. We mount everything then adjust final stepsn
Correct; Eberspacher calls for an optimum tilt angle of 15-35 degrees up for the output side (white tubing), so I went 25 to account +/- 10 degrees for possible inclined parking situations.
This is hands down the best video on doing this. One question, when you unpacked everything there were two baggies attached to the fuel pump power line and mine has two baggies too. One baggie contains the fitting that you pinned up to connect up the fuel pump power but there is a second baggie with what looks to be a battery connection ring terminal, two different fuses and a fuse holder. Your video doesn't seem to address these parts. I have the main power line fused at my distribution panel but don't know what or if I need to do anything with the fuses in the second baggie. Any help would be appreciated
You use that baggie for the power connections if you aren't going to a fuse box.

That's just a put it where you want thing. Many people have different desires for where it exits
Great video for a heater that comes with terrible instructions. Question, how come there's no positive or negative for the fuel pump power line? Just two greens? Why? BTW you're fuel pump doesn't look like it's mounted at a 15-35 degree angle.
thats an espar question. It just doesnt matter
@@FreedomVanGo Thanks I've confirmed with another source that the polarity doesn't matter but I am certain that the pump needs to be at 15-35 degree angle according to multiple sources...

@@FreedomVanGo You clearly don't give a dam, but you should since this is you're instructional video on a relatively expensive device. How you feel doesn't bother me but I do care about viewers following your incorrect instructions that will lead to faster degradation or damage of the device.
I went ahead and searched throught he mfgr documents and here's where it specially warns you
"Safety instructions for installing the metering pump
Always install the metering pump with the delivery side rising
upwards - minimum angle 15°" page 25 of the Technical Desprition Document.
Hopefully viewers will see this and not do what you did. =)
@@TheAllSeeingAye its been said by multiple people. I cant go back and add things to the video, it is what it is. on final cleanup with zip ties, clamp checking etc its straightened. you arent the first to say it. Not much i can do about it.
