Not a space weapons expert here, but I would think if you shot at the treads and made a good hit or two, the Sandcrawler would be disabled. Then the AT-AT could just take it's time shooting it to pieces. As the Jawa's came running out of a smoldering Crawler, you could just step on them like ants at a picnic. If some Tusken Raiders were some distance away, it would appear to them that the AT-AT was doing some sort of dance. Actually sounds kind of fun!
Ryan Studios that’s just a battlefront thing, and it’s not even the at at doing the damage. The player simply calls in an orbital strike when using the at at, but it’s not one of the at ats actual weapons
We're talking about a model that would cost around $1200 if it was premade and sold in stores. Buying the pieces individually will probably cost a good bit more. Anyone who is worried about the $60 instructions probably isn't really interested in paying the $1500 to $2000 needed to get the parts to build it anyways.
I'm personally not a big fan of motors and electronics in sets, tho occasionally I think LEDs can work for me. Just a couple questions, and anyone with the set feel free to help me out: 1) Suppose I didn't want all the wires and the motors taking up space, will the front door section still be able to pivot down properly and also stay closed when up? 2) The sections with the wires you showed a couple times, is that interior meant to be, like, an accessible area the jawas can normally get into?
1) No the motors spin the two pistons that unwind and open the "mouth" it's not really possible to use that function without the motor. You may be able to think of another method using ball+sockets or something but there a lot of weight to the front door. 2) I can't actually open the section he opened to access the motor as it's EXTREMELY hard to get back on. Hard to explain but once I finally got those pieces on inwas never taking them off, I access the motor from the very top centre, there a big piece in the middle that lifts away so you can get right inside the whole thing. Note most of it is hollow, in the interior only goes back about 1/4 of the way. Other than that I'd say the motor/wires don't take up much room at all and it's a great fiction to open the door and drive it around (mine actually goes a lot faster than theirs)
Yes, the pigment some colors are made of (reddish brown, but also burgundy and some lime green I think) makes the mold more fragile. Reddish brown is the worst case of it.
About the AT-AT debate: the sandcrawler was made to survive the harsh deserts of Tatooine, not for military purpose. At the very least, the AT-AT should be able to take out at least 1 set of treads, which would most likely cause the sandcrawler to become immobile (an absence of treads would mean that sand particles may be able to be trapped in the gear mechanisms, which would be a death sentence for the crawlers if their engine(s) are inter joined and connected to all wheels) Basically, the AT-AT is military and can shoot the treads, while the sandcrawler is a big metal target
The sand would fly into its joints and engine, stopping up the legs and causing the engine to overheat. Soon, the engine would catch fire, causing the fuel tank to explode, destroying it.
Why would you advertise this as "minifig scale"? It is clearly smaller than the minifig scale. Just look at the picture you provided yourself at 5:14 and look at the cockpit all the way up. On the blueprint, you can see that each level of the cockpits could fit at least two dozen Jawas. On the model, at 5:56 there is a room only for four Jawas...Next, take a look at the ramp on the blueprint, again on 5:14 and you can see there is enough space width-wise at the top, most wide part of the ramp that it can hold again at least two dozen Jawas side by side. On the model, at 5:05, the ramp can barely fit 8 Jawas at the same section, width-wise. The model needs to be bigger at least 2 - 2.5 times than it is now to be called "minifig scale".

The estimate was 1700$, and some parts in reddish brown are very rare and expensive. But even without those you'll likely spend a ton on multiple shipments from bricklink, which could be very pricey depending on where you live. But compared to what freaking speculators ask for old retired UCS sets (falcon, tantive iv, star destroyers, death star II, etc.) this Sandcrawler is a steal.
I think AT- AT because the sandcrawler has little to no weaponry and yes a ram for the crawler would knock over the walker but by the time it gets close enough the AT-AT’s laser cannons would make it blow up.
No contest AT-AT. The Sandcrawler doesn't have any significant speed... it literally just crawls around. A hit or two from the AT-AT's twin heavy laser canons would take out the sandcrawler's tracks and make it a giant brown scrap pile for target practice.
dXb you realize how many potential hundreds of man hours went into the creation of both this model, and the process of refining the build into something that could be easily laid out via instructions, right? Given the amount of effort and time that was likely sunk into this build, 60 dollars for the instructions is more than reasonable for an undertaking of this scale.

Greatest moc of all time. Amazing, it looks fantastic from every view.
I would really like to build this thing, but i dont think my "pc" is able to work with the programs, and having to buy the parts seperatly sounds like preatty much effort and shipping cost, i would prefer being able to buy a printed version for more money and be able to buy all the parts for the moc, too. That way you know exactly what the moc costs and get it from one shop; and you do not have to buy the instruction and part list before knowing that the moc will not cost ~1700$ but ~2200$ due to shipping cost and part prices. At over 10000 pieces i do not want to be unsure about the endcost of a build.
That's all a tell tale, of you not being a big enough fan, not only of Star Wars, but of the Sandcrawler, Legos and the experience of building something so Star Wars aesthetic of that magnitude, otherwise you would be "chomping on the bit" sort of speak, dreaming at the chance of putting one of these together.
@@gaarcemail in my opinion having to pay 2000€ obly for the parts is ok, but to pay 1000€ for a computer that is able to show the instructions just isnt really what you want, and it has nothing to do with being a fan or not, is it really so hard to make a good product out of a fantastic thing like this? Yes i do not have had any lego for years, but the sandcrawler would be something you could have instead of a boring statue and would be a great puzzle to put together, so stop making big speaches that you are such a big lego fan that would pay 3000€ and that you know everthing about buying cheap parts..., because the average star wars fan just has no idea of how to do this and having to face instructions and programs another language also isnt that easy!
@@brainzmech2971 As you said its just our opinions. But what i wanted to point out is, that you're just paying to look at some instructions on a computer, well i mean, yeah, in your opinion, if you see it that way fine, but what about the hundreds of hours that these guys put into putting that data on a computer? And again if you don't care about compensating people for their hard work, but only what your physically going to get, fine, but some people, such as my self appreciate what they have done, because otherwise, i or others would (if we ever could) have to work hundreds of hours to figure how to do this. I would rather pay $60 and and not have to, that is all. Whether i have the money to do this or not, is besides that point, we are talking about whether it's worth it or not. To be honest, i am not so much a "great" fan of Star Wars, I have always love their art work. I think they where way ahead of their time. I was their on release and was very impressed, again, not by the story, but by the fantastic futuristic art work.

@@gaarcemail dude stfu. It's a overpriced con. I love star wars and lego. I have a huge collection and this guy is right. It's over priced for what it is. So is lego to be fair it's only plastic at the end of the day
"One good ram would end it all" opens up the terrifying door of little jawas screaming "RAMING SPEED"
U squished a android on the door😅as it closed😒🤖
Not a space weapons expert here, but I would think if you shot at the treads and made a good hit or two, the Sandcrawler would be disabled. Then the AT-AT could just take it's time shooting it to pieces. As the Jawa's came running out of a smoldering Crawler, you could just step on them like ants at a picnic. If some Tusken Raiders were some distance away, it would appear to them that the AT-AT was doing some sort of dance. Actually sounds kind of fun!
At-AT because it will use its orbital strike to destroy/disable the Sandcrawler.
Ryan Studios that’s just a battlefront thing, and it’s not even the at at doing the damage. The player simply calls in an orbital strike when using the at at, but it’s not one of the at ats actual weapons
Ryan Studios but the at at would still win
Good point.
The sand crawler is used in tattooine so it’s for sand so that’s an advantage cause the at-at can’t even get in that Terrain
At-At has heavy turbo lazers so ya the at at would win
The 2014 sandcrawler is my most desired lego set and this is probably the coolest custom job I've seen
How many Confederacy MTT sets died to make this masterpiece a reality?
Think you mean Trade Federation
But we buy the set to build and the instructions or we buy that and just came with the instructions?
Instruction... INSTRUCTION!!!!
What about the parts!!
Alternate title: Kermit the frog reviews the ultimate sand crawler
I almost laughed out loud when it said "instructions available now"
Imagine just owning a legal fuctional life size sand crawler
60$ for just instruction......... :'(
They sell plans for ultralights lower than that.
It should be free.
TRIPLE AAA on one Hand that would be nice. On the other im happy that someone actually makes money off his/her creativity
Joshua Mack I guess. Well, I’m gonna go rub poo all over my carpets and sell my house for 10 million dollars.
We're talking about a model that would cost around $1200 if it was premade and sold in stores. Buying the pieces individually will probably cost a good bit more. Anyone who is worried about the $60 instructions probably isn't really interested in paying the $1500 to $2000 needed to get the parts to build it anyways.
Without any weapons or defence upgrades the sandcrawler is just so much toast...
the sand crawler reminds me of halo four canpain mammoth
This is absolutely sick looking, but the tracks on it look kinda loose, can ya tighten them up any? And it could probably roll better.
Can you make it bigger? And a cheaper one with no power functions? And lessen the price of instructions
I'm personally not a big fan of motors and electronics in sets, tho occasionally I think LEDs can work for me. Just a couple questions, and anyone with the set feel free to help me out:
1) Suppose I didn't want all the wires and the motors taking up space, will the front door section still be able to pivot down properly and also stay closed when up?
So much reddish brown... How many of them broke when building this?
a lot
Daniel Werner why would they break is reddish brown made of weaker plastic?
Yes, the pigment some colors are made of (reddish brown, but also burgundy and some lime green I think) makes the mold more fragile. Reddish brown is the worst case of it.
The AT-AT would smite the Jawas before they even got close
I’m still waiting for the minifig tantiv iv
About the AT-AT debate: the sandcrawler was made to survive the harsh deserts of Tatooine, not for military purpose. At the very least, the AT-AT should be able to take out at least 1 set of treads, which would most likely cause the sandcrawler to become immobile (an absence of treads would mean that sand particles may be able to be trapped in the gear mechanisms, which would be a death sentence for the crawlers if their engine(s) are inter joined and connected to all wheels)
Basically, the AT-AT is military and can shoot the treads, while the sandcrawler is a big metal target
At at win It could shoot the tracks
ooof didnt think of that
Ah, but the SAND will be unstable, making the AT-AT lose its footing and aim!
The sand would fly into its joints and engine, stopping up the legs and causing the engine to overheat. Soon, the engine would catch fire, causing the fuel tank to explode, destroying it.
Insulting my Star Wars knowledge was completely unnecessary.
the tracks wouldent break the crawler can run over at at
I don't have quite enough brown pieces to build something this big, but i am working on a large jabba sail barge
No one cares
@@Kreeves33 Well, atm 9 people liked the comment, so at least they and those who understand the importance of correct proportions and scale, care. For the rest of you simpler folks who cannot see past the initial wow-look, i understand why you do not care about correct scale.

$60 is ridiculous for instructions. The star destroyer is only $25. PASS.

So,who bought the instructions? If you did,how much did it cost to get all the pieces?
I don't have a real problem with paying $60 for the instructions, my problem is I don't even know how much the parts would cost me to build the thing once I do pay $60 for instructions.
@@generalgrievous5341 u could make a multi color one tho
I enjoyed watching it being built in the live streams - nice to see the finished article, and see it move as well. Thank you.
Yes hello LEGO I need 74 lbs of B R O W N
I think AT- AT because the sandcrawler has little to no weaponry and yes a ram for the crawler would knock over the walker but by the time it gets close enough the AT-AT’s laser cannons would make it blow up.
Brilliant but not much interior :(
That's not even a question. The ATAT had long range lasers so it could just blast it from far away without even having to fight
Way to stretch it out to that 10 minute mark👍🏻😂
Lol what? I don’t have as blocked and it’s funny bc it’s exactly 10mins😂
A stunning piece of art

No contest AT-AT. The Sandcrawler doesn't have any significant speed... it literally just crawls around. A hit or two from the AT-AT's twin heavy laser canons would take out the sandcrawler's tracks and make it a giant brown scrap pile for target practice.

$60,- for a pdf with a lego instruction... comedy
dXb you realize how many potential hundreds of man hours went into the creation of both this model, and the process of refining the build into something that could be easily laid out via instructions, right? Given the amount of effort and time that was likely sunk into this build, 60 dollars for the instructions is more than reasonable for an undertaking of this scale.
